Cryo treated rotor search...everything is backordered

Anyone know of any good sources for having cryo treated rotors in stock? It seems like everyone is backordered for both sides or backordered for one side with no ETA. I currently have StopTech Sport cryo's but I am open to the same Stoptechs, Frozen cryo's, or other recommendations. Thanks.

oh, and it looks like Summit has Frozen ready for drop shipment ~April 28th. During the pandemic my StopTech Cryo Blanks took nearly 6 months to come in from TireRack, so order before need date.

 

TireRack is backordered, buybrakes had 1 side, and Keith didn't answer when I called. Most vendor orders ship directly from the manufacturer.

 

What's the difference between StopTech and Frozen?

 

There’s a shop in Arvada, CO called Mountain High Performance that has their own in house cryogenic processing setup, my brother used to work there as a machinist building high performance diesel and gasoline engines. I used to cryo damn near everything I could when they were doing a batch and had extra room. Pocket knives, drill bits, chainsaw blades, rotors, fly wheels even guitar strings. I haven’t been in CO for about 5 years now and my brother doesn’t work there anymore but the owner “Bill” is a mechanical genius and is probably still busy building fire-ringed big valve heads for all of the guys at ATS Diesel. You could send him anything you want cryo-treated for a fair price I’m sure.

When I ordered my set, it took Tire rack about 4 months to ship them.

I have smooth Stoptech Cyros on the front of my truck. I don’t care for slotted or drilled. They have been fine and haven’t warped.

Ia m going to change out the rears with the same rotors here soon. Buybrakes.com has them.

 

I have some Frozens on the way.

 

I got super lucky in the fall with buybreaks. Got them all within a week.

 

I haven't forgotten your question, I just don't have an answer aside from Frozen being owned by a cryo treatment company and StopTech being owned by a massive company that owns Fram, Centrix, Drawtite, and a bunch of other known brands. Frozen is def headquartered in the USA, unsure about the other,.larger company.

Report back when you have some mileage on them. Curious of your feedback since you've also had Stop Tech.

I ordered stoptech cryo from buybrakes. However, when I installed I saw no markings to show they were stoptech. Anyone know if there are any?

 

I don't remember anything glaringly obvious for markings in other than the box from a reputable dealer (tirerack). Maybe @Tundra234 can confirm when he does his swap

 

Yea my box was from buybrakes. I still have them. I’ll have to take a look.
