Does anyone know if the fuel pumps are still delayed?

I have a 2018 SR5 CrewMax with 47k miles. Yesterday, cold morning (35 degrees) went to crank and it hesitate before turning over. Did it again today. Checked voltage with multimeter and 12.42 volts. Running 13.8 volts. Is it my battery, alternator or starter?

I'd say, if that's the original Battery, replace it. It should be about 12.6 when charged up.

Get an OBD 2 reader, plug it up. Read Fuel Alcohol Percent or Fuel Alcohol Density. Mine was up at about 80% when I was having rough starts. Download Techstream, go into setting and relearn fuel alcohol density. Problem solved so far. Theres a ton of threads on this, including on Ih8mud.

Or just go into a dealer and let them beat around the bush for a while...

Hello everyone, in 2025 is anybody still having this issue? With Mine I just started noticing that. I got a 2016 CM with letter W on the VIN so I guess for sure is FFV but my truck it’s now hitting 96k miles I had looked for the recall online I can’t find info about and I even put the vin# in the NHTSA Website to look for recalls and had found anything either. Any advice from you guys? I guess I’m passed the 80kmiles warranty or still should cover and give it a try and call Toyota costumer service and bring up the issue? What are your thoughts again in advance thanks for the much help

I had this issue on my 2016 flex fuel for about a year. Ended up having a shop reset the alcohol density % and it eliminated the issue.

Is that a temporary fix or will happen after time? Or what are the thoughts on that?
    Thanks

So far, I haven't had the issue pop up again. It's been almost a year and a half. Some guys have different results.

Thanks, I’ll keep an eye to see how often happens. So far I think it’s just like 2 or 3 times
