    Fellas,

I’m brand new to this forum; quick backstory; I’m 42 years old, I’ve owned nothing but Toyotas me entire life, I’ve probably owned about 15-18 of them. My first Toyota was a brand new 2004 Corolla S. In any event, in July of last year, my wife and I had our first baby and we wanted to look for a truck for the room and the bed space for all of the baby ‘accessories’. I have a GSD work dog so we really just wanted to look into our first TRUCK. Around the time we were looking, as you know, non-stop posts and people talking about the Tundra bearing issues and engines blowing up. Sooooo, for the first time in my life, I decided to pull the trigger on a Chevy. Went with the 2024 Silverado 1500 with the 2.7 platform. We don’t haul or tow anything, so, it’s more than fine for what we need. Welp, just (2) weeks ago, I wrapped up my Lemon Law civil suit against GM and they came and picked up the truck. As soon as I was reimbursed, I RAN to the Toyota dealership and bought a 2025 Tundra SR5. I don’t really do ‘upgrades’ or add-ons to my vehicles, I mean, I’m in my 40’s with a kid now, just don’t really have the desire (or time) for that. BUT, I did get 5% window tint done, installed the rear wheel well liners and mud flaps a few days ago and TODAY, I received my CUSCO magnetic oil drain plug. Here’s my question for you guys:

    1. I bought the CUSCO M12xp1.25 drain plug. All of the information I’m reading authenticates that this is the same size as the OEM Toyota drain plug on the 2025 Tundra. I only have 400 miles on it so I’m not gonna do the oil change until I hit 1000 miles but a short time ago I climbed under the truck and the Toyota OEM plug looks significantly bigger than the CUSCO plug. (I’ve attached photos for your review) I’m not a “math or spec” guy, so don’t flame here, it really does like much smaller than the OEM plug. Is this the correct size? Is it okay that it’s smaller than the OEM plug?

Lastly, before GM came and picked up my Silverado, I removed the Banks Performance IDASH gauges and pedal monster kit. I’ve already sold the IDASH gauges but I still have the Pedal Monster kit which IS compatible with the Tundras. (I’ve attached photos of that as well) If anyone is interested in that, I’ll make you a fair offer on it.

    Thanks for having me!

    D

Not familiar with CUSCO drain plug but as long as it matches the specs (M12xp1.25), it will fit. I got Fumoto (F133S) that has the M12-1.25 thread specs and it fits perfectly.

excellent - I have 800 miles on the Tundra now. I’m gonna do the 1st oil change at 1k miles (probably this weekend) and swap the OEM plug with the CUSCO and I’ll come back and update the thread.

    appreciate it.
