The front will be 17-18" The rear shock is also for future plans of potentially linking the truck. The rear will cycle 27"+ if we link it. With leafs anywhere from 16"-19"

Heat gun, some string, rubbing alcohol and then a wax over the area you did it to. Done this on 6 cars or so, never had it show. I'm sure there are fancier ways.

Appreciate it. I’m just worried the paint has faded a bit and it will look darker where the badges were.

Put RC rock lights in the wheel wells. They’re bright enough. I turned the other Tractor Supply rock lights on that changes color. But those aren’t as bright. I put the RC n TS switches together on the console . It’s ok, but the shadows bug me. I guess it’ll add some light at the campground IMG_8147.jpg IMG_8149.jpg IMG_8152.jpg

I don't think that is a problem, maybe someone else can chime in. But I am almost positive I debagged a 2003 Tacoma in 2020 and there wasn't any issue.

I do need to organize my light switches. The blank spots on the dash is used already. But, with different style switches .

My 42" light bar came with that same tear drop switch and I was thinking there's got to be a better looking more OEM switch. The new switch had 4 leads vs 3 for the original but I finally figured it out...lol

Be careful with the heat gun. A warm setting will do it. Get it too hot and your paint will suffer. I used a hair dryer. I used 50lb monofilament fishing line to cut off the badge and my thumb to roll off the adhesive. You can search the forum for folks who've used this wheel to great success:
3M Stripe Off Wheel Adhesive Remover Eraser Wheel Removes Decals, Stripes, Vinyl, Tapes and Graphics 4” diameter x 5/8” thick 3/8-16 threaded mandrel 07498 Pack of 1: Power Rotary Tool Accessories: Amazon.com: Tools & Home Improvement
It seemed harsh to me when I first read about it, but there are raves about its results.
If you wind up with any residual goo, some orange-oil-based solvent will get it off:
Amazon.com: Goo Gone Original Liquid - 8 Ounce - Surface Safe Adhesive Remover Safely Removes Stickers Labels Decals Residue Tape Chewing Gum Grease Tar Crayon Glue : Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Wash it off with soap and water after.

    Good luck.

I was just thinking yesterday that some 30 lb. test fishing line might work good for this. Good to know a hair dryer will do the job for heat too. Thanks for the info.

Good point on the heat gun, I only use the first or second setting if its real cold out. I have used the wheels to mixed success, but they aren't a bad solution. I find just the fishing line/heat gun to be the real winner. Any thread will do but the thinner and stronger the better.

    Good tips!

Any color differences from the sun on the paint underneath badge? I don't wanna take mine off and find that and have to deal with it, so curious.

Can the paint color affect this? Like some paints might be more susceptible. I'd have to search but have come across some posts here mentioning they saw a diff.

You can always just take one badge off, and if it's discolored, put the badge back on.

I installed my TRD Pro headlights and Baja Designs fog light kit. The Squadron Sports came off my first gen as I upgraded those to XL80. Looks so much better than the 10 year old headlights. I still need to do something about the bumper as it looks terrible.

No issues whatsoever. Went really smooth. Took me about 20 minutes total. It was really dirty behind them, though. I think I could possibly be an issue on an older vehicle or a darker color, but I didn’t have even the slightest variation of color.

So a week or two ago I posted that I can't find many 2nd gens for sale, and I was wondering what you guys were thinking. No one really replied, but I did get this email today saying my trucks in high demand and value is up. Not ever going to sell it, but I see it as reaffirmation that 2nd gen is the best gen.Screenshot 2025-04-23 at 1.38.02 PM.png
