Those little Dayton Epiques are surprising good little subs. I prefer the 7" HE180, but the 5.5" HE150 is no slouch. They are super clean and don't complain one bit through the entirety of their excursion range. However, once you breach the excursion, they let you know that's the limit. I had a quartet of HE180's planned for my DC, but it never happened. Or at leas, it hasn't happened YET. WinISD model in a sealed box with some mild boost at 40 hz and you can feed the quartet 1000 RMS with a rumble filter, or 750 RMS wide open all day. Basically flat down to 30 hz with the touch of boost.

The Epiques are also clean enough to use as a mid up to about 2000 hz. You need a robust large format tweeter crossed low, but it's very doable.

@SK_MACHINE Nice build, BTW! If you don't mind me asking - how well does summing all four channels under the seat work? Does the factory HU cut bass at a specific volume? My neighbors '21 F150 has a SHARP bass cut at a specific voltage (bass set high, volume medium, or bass set low, higher volume..). I always replace my factory HU but I have an AudioControl DSP 6.1200 begging to be used; it can channel sum up to 8 channels so I'm thinking of taking advantage of it's abilities. That, and I'm torn between retaining a disc player and those stupid big 10" floating screens (Yep, I still like physical media) - partly because I feel like an idiot spending $1500 just for a screen and accessories to hook it up.

The dash speakers are a new addition to the rest of the system. I had some guys asking on a facebook forum about the center speakers so I thought I'd post here.

I did open the audio control LCQ1 to sum the inputs to get more frequency signal out of the HU. It's not optimal that's why I upgraded the dash speakers as I was tiring out the oem speakers. The 4-ch Infinity has a HP filter and I turned down the 1200hz eq frequency a bit on the front CH to help with staging. Poor man's DSP. In hindsight I should have added a DSP to tune it in perfectly. Overall I'm super stoked how it sounds. I did make a new .65 cu ft vented box for the Epique tuned to 35hz. MUCH BETTER BASS. Later on I might add an 8" Infinity Kappa Sub in a vented 1 cu ft box for more bass. My plan is to put that on the floor in the back seat incorporated with a dog bed platform. Don't worry I'll put the BASS down when he's in the truck. LOL
