I need to replace the rad and heater hoses on my 2001 4.7. Any recommendations between silicone vs conventional hoses? I live in Phoenix in the summer and travel to Canada in the winter sometimes (reverse Snowbird I guess!) so massive temperature fluctuations.
    Thanks

OEM rubber has survived for 19 years on my truck. You won't find that kind of longevity from anything in the aftermarket world, period.

If you like your hoses to last more than 3-5 years, and recognize what a freaking catastrophe it'd be to have one of those hoses blow, maybe pony up for the quality OEM provides.

The 'part finder' sticky thread in this forum shows how to buy parts directly from Toyota's website for local dealer pickup at upwards of 50-60% off, which sometimes puts the pricing cheaper than (or at least comparable to) aftermarket.
