    Hi all-

Longtime lurker and secondtime Tundra owner. I had a tried and true 2007 that I got slightly used in 2008 and had until early last year. I attempted to make it through driving the wife's old car, but missed having a truck. So, I purchased a very base level SR5 2022 Tundra (with the free engine in waiting) to get me through.

With it being base level, it has (manual) cloth seats and I have been exploring Katzkin seats, but for the price, I had a crazy idea of possibly looking for used Soft-tex seats for front and back. My searching is showing the price may nearly align with the cost of Katzkin or possibly even cheaper. My question is would I be able to use the power functionality of the seats, I see "harnesses" under the seat, but not sure what I'm looking for specifically to enable power. I did a quick search of the forum and haven't seen that anyone's performed this yet.

    Thanks.

Harness is there but relays and/or power module are not. I would check for power going to those harnesses first. Hate for you to spend all that money and find out the module for the seats is expensive.

Tracking down those part numbers may also prove difficult. Thanks for feedback.

I went the route of Katzkin for my SR5, at the time it was $1200

$1200 installed? From everything I’m seeing now, they are $1200 alone without install.

    Welcome to the forum @yayrun

The power driver's seat with memory wouldn't be easy because it has an ECU.

The non-memory seat may be doable if the plug has power.
There is no relay or ECU for it.
It is powered by a fused line straight from the battery.

You'll need to put a 30A fuse in the fuse the box, if it has the option.

Then if there is a white b12 plug under the seat, check it for power and ground.
Pin 6 - white wire is power
Pin 12 -white w/ black stripe is ground.

Or you could run a fused line from the battery to power it.

Forget about the memory version but since SR5s did come with the basic power softex seats as a premium option, I'd guess that the harnesses are there and that those seats should work. All they need is +12V, no ECU or special electronics module.
