My code reader picked up this code - DTC B15DB87 (manufacture specific code). I showed it to the dealer today and they said they never heard of it.

    Anyone had this before?

    TIA

    From Corolla forums...:

    "DTC No.
    B15DB87
    Telematics Transceiver Missing Message

When 90 seconds has elapsed after turning the ignition switch to ON and the telematics transceiver cannot be detected, the telematics transceiver is judged to be disconnected after comparison with the past USB connected devices information.

    (2 trip detection logic)
    • Telematics transceiver
    • Radio and display receiver assembly
    • Harness or connector
    Navigation System"

Interesting. Wonder what causes this? I have opted out of the Toyota Master Data Services and wondered if they have removed the connection to telematics as well? This would make sense as my truck does NOT change the time when traveling back and forth between Central and Eastern time zones as it did for the first year (when I was subscribed to their Master Data Agreement).

The diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B15DB87 on your 2024 Toyota Tundra indicates a "Telematics Transceiver Disconnected" issue. This code is manufacturer-specific and relates to the vehicle's telematics system, which manages features like Remote Connect, SOS emergency assistance, and other connected services.

    What This Code Means
The B15DB87 code is triggered when the vehicle's radio and display receiver assembly fails to detect the telematics transceiver (also known as the Data Communication Module or DCM) within a certain period after the ignition is turned on. This can result from:

    • A disconnected or faulty telematics transceiver

    • Issues with the wiring harness or connectors between the DCM and the audio system

    • Power supply problems to the DCM

    • Software glitches or interference
In some cases, environmental factors like electrical noise or interference can also cause this code to appear tochr.net.

    Recommended Actions
    1. Check for Software Updates: Ensure that your vehicle's software is up to date, as some issues related to the telematics system can be resolved with firmware updates.

    2. Inspect the DCM and Connections: A technician should examine the telematics transceiver and its connections to ensure they are secure and functioning correctly.

    3. Consult a Toyota Dealer: Given the complexity of the telematics system, it's advisable to have a certified Toyota technician diagnose and address the issue.
If your vehicle is under warranty, these diagnostics and any necessary repairs may be covered.

On my truck it appears to be the navigation that allows for time change. I let Drive Connect expire which includes Toyota's navigation and the clock on the dash has to be changed manually. I still have all the other subscriptions.

I've never activated Toyota navigation, or any of the paid subscriptions. My head unit prompts me when I change time zones.

I do have Safety and Service Connect activated (free for 10 years). I also agreed to Toyota's Master Data Consent, so my FOB remote start would work.

If the OP hasn't activated any of the connected services, and he hasn't agreed to the Master Data Consent, then his error code is very likely related to that, IMO.

When you say "head unit" are you referring to the 14" display? My time changes automatically there since it gets the time from Android Auto. It's the dash right in front of me that doesn't change.

Yes, my 14" display alerts me to a time zone change, and asks me if I want to change to it. That's with CarPlay and Google Maps running, usually.

IIRC, the dash time display doesn't automatically change. I have to do that using the steering wheel menu controls.

Agree. Still trying to figure out all the negative implications for not letting Toyota collect data. The saga continues...
