I read some other threads about this, and I think my only recourse is the dealer at this point. I have a 7-pin trailer connection. When backing up my boat I have it in Tow Mode, RCTA is off, PKSB is off, seat belt alarm is disabled with Carista.

As soon as I start backing up the truck loses it's shit! Alarms start sounding. EVERY time the truck puts on the emergency brake, which I undo. Then at some point (just never know when) it slams on the vehicle brake with the large red "brake" on the dash. Sometimes I have to turn the truck off and back on and hopefully it will let me move the truck. I also like to back up with the door open, which the truck does not like.

There needs to be a "shut the f**k up button" on this truck. I know what I am doing. I understand the reasoning for the alarms/features, but at some point they are not helpful and need to be disabled.

I read the manual. Nothing in it is helpful.

Truck is out of warranty so not sure if this will be covered.

Any chance you got the door open? This happens to me when I have the door open backing the trailer into the water.

The door open just adds another alarm. It automatically brakes regardless of the door being open or closed.

Unfortunate, mine does this only when door is open.

Just to be clear: you do have this button pushed "off", correct?

Does it do it with or without trailer attached? (7-pin connected)

Try it without and see if it still does it.

If nothing else, it will help your dealer service department troubleshoot if that variable changes.

If you try and back up with the door open it will apply the brakes.

As soon as a door is open it will apply the brakes and you have to put it in park and back in reverse again if you want to move with the door open. Every time you want to move and the doors open you have to repeat that.

My truck selectively enables/disables the back up beeeeeeeeeeeeeeppppppppppppppppppp when a trailer is hooked up, sometime it shuts up and sometimes it does not. Pretty annoying, but I've learned to just ignore it when I'm backing up a trailer.

I'm fine with the truck applying the parking brake, as I can just turn it off and it stays off. I'm talking about the truck locking the truck brakes and essentially locking the vehicle in place.

Additionally, why are there multiple alarms going off (even with the door shut)??? I have everything disabled that I can possibly disable.

This is what I have turned off every time I drive my truck, and I don't have any beeps or auto-braking when I splash either of my boats.

Both of my boats are older and only have a 4-pin trailer connector, however.

Turn off the Rear Cross Traffic Alert system. It’s a button on the left knee button console area.

Strange. I’ve owned a 22 SR5 and 25 Pro. That’s the only button I press when I am connected to my trailer with a 7 pin harness.

Sorry about that. Hopefully the dealership can at least diagnose it for you.

I have the 7 pin round to 5 pin connector for my boat. I use tow mode, and have the trailer programmed in the system and it recognizes it. I push the back up disable button. It does not slam on the brakes, but many times the beeper still sounds, though sometimes all is quiet. Their technology for most things is a bit buggie in my experience.

I thought I saw someone else with this here and it turned out to be a bad sensor in the rear and was a pretty easy fix.

maybe dealer visit time if shutting off all the BS doesnt solve it
