Another example of why you should maintain your own vehicles, unless you have a long time trusted mechanic.

lol, did you even watch the video? It has 6k miles. What maintenance? Dealer pays for this...they can even claim you failed to take it in and void your warranty

Hopefully the dealer just bought the owner a new engine...no excuse.

The guy doing the video does say something about the other store where he got the oil changed. Obviously we don't know all the details but it does sound like some maintenance had been done.

He had the oil changed at a local shop. Not Toyota. He would probably have to go after them.

This is why I take my vehicles to the dealer. If anything happens they are the only ones that touch it. These new vehicles with the technology that is in these things should be worked on by trained auto techs.
This guy took it to some oil change place it sounds like and this is what occurred!
At both of the dealers we use a person can stand right outside and watch as they change the oil and light fixing of things. Even on major things one can sneak a peak usually somehow. Plus when you get your vehicle back a person should really try to check as much as possible to see what they have done.
Hate to see things like this happen

Damn... I always check under after an oil change to ensure everything is right.

I did watch it, did you? The guy talked about another “store” that did an oil change.

Dealer guy shows undercarriage completely covered with oil, says independent shop failed to tighten oil filter - which fell off.

    Spun oil filter.

Dealers aren't perfect and the skid plate can hide some oil. After first dealer change, I was getting popping noises. Turns out the didn't tighten two of OEM skid plate bolts at all and two were loose. When I was tightening I saw some oil. I think it was from changing the filter and they didn't clean the little funnel/hose adapter enough. Still, nothing on driveway and there was enough there that I should have seen something.

Good looking driveway ornament though.., well appointed.... Too bad, gear like that indicates they take care of their rig...
