What is up with Toyota's half-assed fix on the extenable leg rest?

I took my 2022 platinum in to get the leg rest looked at because it would never extend and get caught up on something. When I went to pick it up they did the fix from Toyota and now the extendable part doesn't sit flush with the front of the seat. What kind of half-ass fix is this? You can't tell me they are selling brand new trucks like this. Is this really how my seat is supposed to be?

Mine sits flush with the rest of the seat when retracted. Take it back and have them correct it. Maybe walk the service person out to the lot to look at a new one.....

Pretty sure the “fix” is to put a spacer in it so it can’t retract all the way and get stuck. Would explain why it no longer sits flush.

    I think you are correct.

I'm a tall guy with long legs, so my leg rest is always fully extended. It really helps minimize cramping on long roadtrips.

Which I doubt the spacer even works. Mine gets stuck fully extended. I leave it extended, and my wife went to drive the truck the other day and thought I locked it some how, as she couldn’t retract it.

mine was hung in the retracted down position. The dealer said there was a new edition track to fix it and they got it next day. They had the truck two half days. mechanic said it was a pain to change as the seat had to come out to replace it and deal with the air bags, and then reset limits. Seems to work good now.
