So…my Backup camera worked fine then started to work intermittently, then stopped working all together. When I put the truck in reverse there is just a black screen. I verified good ground at the camera, but only 4 volts to the camera. I used a power supply to provide 6volts to the camera and got an image when in reverse, so I know it’s a power issue. I started to follow the wiring diagram, I have and checked the wiring underneath for physical damage up to the RA1 connection under the hood. I was going off a 2013 diagram so I wasn’t sure I was on the right connector under the hood connector block (RA1) so I checked for power at the camera connector, then disconnected RA1 and there was no power to the camera connector, so I knew that was the right one to check… anyways with that RA1 connector disconnected the truck lost power and died. I reconnected RA1 and the truck started with a check engine light. So I pulled the battery for a minute and reconnected. Restarted the truck okay no problems, but now when I put her in reverse there is no black screen, just the regular menu, also under the brightness settings “camera” is missing from the menu.. I got no clue what happened??

My backup camera started acting up today also. I went to a high pressure automatic brushless car wash this morning and the backup camera was working fine on the way to work, then went haywire after being parked all day at work. I've used this car wash dozens of times without any problems. Now, when I come to a stop the front/rear cameras come on only once every three, four, or five times. Intermittent. I get a blank screen and touching it anywhere has no effect. I tried pressing the manual switch to go back to the music and nav screen and that works every time. but going back to the camera screen, no. When driving I can press the camera switch and only one every few times will the camera work. Water intrusion, possibly? The truck has less than 30k miles and it's still under warranty, so if it keeps acting up I'll take it in to the dealer for them to figure it out.
