Hoping someone here can help before I pull everything apart....I installed the Heritage Grille, Marker Lights, and a Diode Dynamics light bar on my 25 Platinum and everything was working wonderfully. All cameras and sensors were fine, but yesterday I noticed I am not getting an image from the front facing camera, it just shows black as you can see here. I disconnected the battery, restarted the head unit, checked the plugs to make sure everything was seated correctly, but nothing. I am likely going to take the front valance off to triple check the camera harness is seated (it is impossible to take the harness out without removing the entire front end...

Has anyone ever seen this? Think the dealership is going to blame me and not fix it under warranty because of the grille swap? Should I order a new camera (anyone have the part number for the 25 Platinum with TRD OR Package)?

    Thanks all!

I think the front camera is in front of the rearview mirror, not in the grille.

When my front camera failed, it disabled the radar cruise and front collision detection. Do those features work for you?

I was going to reply with the same thing that the "front" camera was in the windshield. Then I got curious and looked in the manual and Toyota calls both of them front cameras. Different sections of the manual written by different groups and left hand not talking to right?

Based off this entry in the manual, it looks like the camera for the panoramic view is def the one in the grille as suspected.

Seems to be the case. Odd that they can't give them different names...

Took the whole thing apart, everything looks fine. Going to try my luck at the dealer

So, based on the manual, our trucks have 6 cameras? Wow. Talk about needless tech overkill.

And none can be used as a recording dash cam. Lame.....

Looks like the front camera failed so my dealership is replacing it under warranty...no questions asked about the grille swap- not that a grille swap could have caused a camera failure anyway.. they gave me a brand new Tacoma to drive while they take a day or two to get the part and swap it out.. win/win

They’re replacing the one in the grille
