There is a dude who put a 2nd gen bigger front diff into his 1st gen sequoia. treehouse off-road I think it was, he has a long video on YouTube about it. It was very very extensive work like doing a cab lift so he could get his engine and trans up higher just so he had the space for it and then still had to modify the diff itself a lot. So it is possible

junkyard GM 14 bolt axles can come stock with 4.56s and are pretty much the cheapest beefy axle there is…………….

Just ran through the assembled third member diff builder on ECGS website. Looks like for $2300 you can regear front and back with open front and locked rear in 4.30. Not bad......

I swear about 20% of the Internet is now AI generated nonsense. It wasn’t just that website I read it on.

ECGS seems like the way to go, I was hopeful I could find a 04 white 4.30 parts truck to use for around $1000 and save myself some money while also getting color matched spare body panels.

Only second hand info* but i know two people that dont like true-tracks in front. They both said it was harsh transition and was like a poor version of KDSS or whatever yota calls it. Active brake diff is how I think of it. Anyone with 1st hand experience id like to hear it.

Truetracks seem to be loved or mixed feelings. I wouls spend another couple hundo snd go e- locker. If you go for it please let us know your thoughts.

And fyi I used SEQIOUA RING gear front. But also had 02 4-runner 3rd member front pull it yard ( code read 4.30) and they * both looked the same when I regeared my truck.

Everything else I sourced from totaled donor tundra that had gears already installed.

@Bed Tundy did you follow through on the re-gear? If so, what did you choose and how do you like the results?

Sorry I’ve been busy at work and MIA on the forum for a bit. Winter was my down time and I had lots of Energy to think about the truck. This re-gear has been revitalized and brought to the top of my to do list because I just snapped something in my front diff playing in the snow last weekend. Rwd works fine and it grinds and slips in 4x4. Sooooooo, I don’t have the money for the full re-gear yet, I will have to try and source 4.30 geared parts from wrecking yards and this might give me a chance to use my broken parts to build what I really want down the line. Is there anyone with direct knowledge about the compatibility of just swapping the whole front and rear differentials/axles from an 04 v6 4x4 auto to an 05 v8 4x4? If you find my parts and buy them before me I will find you! Haha. I need my 4x4 back!

Totally swappable, as long as the gearing matches front to rear. Bonus if you find a limited slip.
