Android Automotive to use cameras as a dashcam

Android Automotive OS is the programming that runs on the Toyota Tundra 14" head unit. Your Android Auto on your phone connects to the head unit.

We'll see if Toyota will step up and add the programming to enable this. They will probably have to add the ability for using the USB port for storage. Newer trucks will need built in storage.

It will use the cameras s a dashcam. I am sure it will have somewhat of a "Sentry" mode like Tesla for recording while you run in the store.

Toyota does not use Android Automotive. Entune is its own custom infotainment OS.

So your saying I'll have even more people watching me through my phone cam? Because all the alphabet agencies doing it isn't enough already I suppose. Very Orwellian.

 

Even though it is running Entune, we know it is possible. So it will be on Toyota if they do nothing.
