I was told my secondary air injectors were causing my power loss. Research leads me to the possibility of bypassing it. Does this work? Also, the mechanic said he would have to take the intake manifold off. I thought the secondary injectors were in the passenger side fender well.

Have never heard that the secondary air injectors cause power problems, unless you are talking about engine power - maybe in Limp mode.

When they fail they throw codes and eventually leads to limp mode.

    The bypass kits do work.

They are behind the motor at firewall, the intake manifold is in the way.

I would definitely look into a bypass kit. The secondary is not technically needed and quite spendy to have replaced.

    It works.

The pumps are in the fender well. The drivers are behind the intake manifold. The wiring harness doesn't require the manifold to be removed but they're a PITA to get to. The air pump soft lines convert to hard lines under the intake manifold. The kit installs block-off plates at the end of the hard lines. To do the job right, you'd pull the manifold to also remove the hard lines, but not necessary. As a 'temp' solution I taped mine over and called it a day. That was ~3ish years ago.
