I have a 2008 Tundra with 145k miles and it has a long start only after it has been sitting for more than an hour or so. If it has been sitting for a long time or especially sitting overnight then it will restart perfectly every time. If I make a quick stop at a store for a few minutes, or even if it sits for 30+ minutes, it will restart perfectly.

The truck runs great, so it does not seem like a fuel pressure or pump issue, and the battery and starter are strong.

    What could the issue be?

Does the exhaust smell like raw gasoline when it finally starts?

Could be leaky injectors. Pretty common on 1st gen trucks, but I've not read of it being an issue on second gens.

    All I can offer.

Your post says its a Tundra, but truck info says it's a Sequoia. Either way, it's still a 2UZ, correct?
Here's what I would in the Field Service manual.

DI-374 STARTS ON PAGE 644 OF THE FSM
DI-266 STARTS ON PAGE 536 OF THE FSM

Correct, it's a Sequoia, but I figured that since it is the same engine as a Tundra, more people might weigh-in if I just referred to it as a Tundra. Engine is 3URFE

Would the guides that you posted above still apply?

I have an 08 tundra and it's doing the same thing driving me crazy. What's strange is it doesn't throw a code/ check engine. I've cleaned the throttle body, replaced plugs, and just recently replaced all injectors with Denso. I'm at wits end. One of these days it will not start. Seems like a possible throttle position sensor or possibly maybe the whole throttle body needs to be replaced. I've got 181k and runs like day 1. Anybody help??????

No codes for me either. I'm really dragging my feet on replacing the injectors since they are around $150 each for OEM injectors, so I'm trying to rule out all other possibilities first.
