I just bought a used softopper for my tundra. I have a factory tonneau cover and didn’t realize the softener frame interferes with tonneau cover frame.

To use the ST I’ll need to remove the rails the tonneau cover mounts to, which is a lot of work. I plan to us the ST only a couple of times per year when camping and hunting. Most of the time the tonneau cover will be on.

I was thinking of making a new frame for the softopper that would allow me to keep the tonneau frame in place. Has anyone ever done this? If you have do you have any plans that you could share.

Thanks for posting—glad to have you as part of Team Softopper! Sounds like you’ve got a solid setup for camping and hunting, and that quick on/off flexibility is what it’s all about. We haven’t heard of anyone making a custom frame to work around a tonneau system, but it’s a cool idea—definitely let us know how it turns out!
