I am referring to the lights in the plastic panel that sits between the driver and passenger and located on the roof near the windshield's trim inside the cabin:

I need to replace the switch that’s underneath of the driver light's lens, because it doesn’t latch to keep the light turned on when I press the lens. The passenger side works fine, so I have been turning this one off and on as needed. Has any of you replaced the press/release switch that controls the driver’s light?

I bought a couple of switches that may or may not work, but I have no idea how to do this work on the Tundra. Also I do have experience with wire soldering and electronics. All I need to know is how to remove the entire panel if needed only, and your hints or experiences with these light switches, etc. I plan to work on this project by May when the snow melts (it’s still cold in the interior of Alaska).

It's been a few years but this happened to me and I think I removed the console and glued the broken piece, but I'm not sure.

Worst case you can buy a replacement from a wrecked tundra, something like https://www.ebay.com/itm/1768663012...EiERqs-QJm&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Removal is 4 torx screws I think, but the exact instructions vary depending on whether you have a double cab or crew cab. I'd check YouTube.

    Good luck!

Yes, the overhead panel on the roof that has a press/release light lens, one for the driver, and the other for the passenger.

Thank you both for your responses. I will probably have to remove the panel to remove and replace the switch, or maybe solder the new switch in place.
