I'm new here. I'm mostly on the 1st gen Tundra Forum seems to be more traffic on that page. Not to many 1st gen Sequoia builds here. Mines an 2004 Limited. I acquired the truck in March 2020 from my parents my grand parents owned it prior to them. After test driving the truck I diagnose a bad head gasket. My father overheated the truck which he thought it only needed a new radiator. My parents have always been hard on vehicles not following routine maintenance schedule.

They wanted to scarp the truck at that point. I took it off their hands for cheap with 253K miles. I found a shop with an engine with 130k miles. Paid $1600 for engine and labor which was a no brainer. I also installed JBA shorties which I knew I would need at some point. I had the headers coated in high heat cerakote. Drove the truck stock till recent.

Summer of 2023 I had custom bumpers and slider by Kreyzfab in Pueblo, CO. Parts are slowing coming in for a whole suspension refresh. I got a used set of 2.5 DSC fox coil overs from Oldmantan. In the rear Ill be running OME 2".

For wheel and tires I got lucky and found a set of TRD Rock warrior 6 lug with a decent set of 285/70/r17 C load tires in El Paso, TX. I drove 6 hours round trip. I had to have them.

I had no idea these came in a 6 lug format. Sweet build.

They are a rare set. I couldn’t pass on them for $600.

I installed harbor freight 12v disc horn. Easy install. I got sick of my sissy horns. They sound much better.

Sounds clip gave me an error when uploading.

I replaced the needle bearing in the front diff with a carrier bearing. I was getting a growl from the front diff at slow speeds coming to a stop. This eliminated that issue. Common upgrade for the 1st gen Sequoia/Tundra

I installed a scangauge 2. I found a mount on etsy. Fitment is great. It doesn’t get in the way of the column shifter, fished the cable behind the column cover.

Got a set a JBA UCA’s. Came up on set of slee off road rear springs from a local cruiser group on mud. The SOF2RH spring is designed to give 2″ of rear lift on a 100 Series Land Cruiser /LX470 with additional 250lbs of weight added to the rear of the vehicle. these are similar to OME 863's in spring rate except just one inch shorter for those of us who wanted less of that "stinkbug" look as some mudders call it. Planning on running the ARB Old Man Emu 63020L rear shocks.

Waiting on the oem LCA’s to arrive. Which would be the final piece to the puzzle for now.

Finally getting around to installing the FOX 2.5 DSC and JBA uca. Installed the reservoir mounts inside the wheel well. I’m hoping they clear the 285. I’ll double check once mounted. I used electric heat shrink tubing on the hose clamps to protect the reservoirs and give it a cleaner look.

OEM lca should be here today hopefully this will be wrapped up by the weekend.

Been procrastinating on the update of this build. I came across some a local sale for some slee offroad springs meant for an 100 series. The SOF2RH spring is designed to give 2″ of rear lift on a 100 Series Land Cruiser /LX470 with additional 250lbs of weight added to the rear of the vehicle. With the added weight of the rear tuber bumper and swing out I decided to give them a try. Heres a side by side comparison between the OEM Sequoia spring (Left), OEM 100 Series (Right) and the Slee SOF@RH spring (center)BF54F95D-4AAA-4951-A783-1029445D3D19.jpg

Its been about 7 months since the install and I'm really happy with the build so far. I glad I went with the Slee springs I achieved about 2.5-3 inches of lift keeping the factory rack (my preference). The rear as settled a little. The rear springs did have about 50k on them, no break in period. They actually felt a lot better than I thought they would. I achieved about 2-2.5 inch lift in the front.
