DO not rely on the ratings reviews on the MORIMOTO site to decide on their product. At Christmas of 2024 I used their reviews, all 5 star ratings, to decide to purchase their LED headlights to replace my OEM LED headlights on my 2020 Tundra TRD Pro. I was not happy with my OEMS brightness, thus my reason for changing. $1300 for the XB headlights plus $117 for needed cable adapters to make it plug and play since I already had LED headlights.

I installed my lights and scratched my head because the instructions (pg 7) regarding the turn signal cables were clear as mud. Instructions showed 4 adapter styles and one pair was needed depending on the original truck wiring. For my $117 I only received 1 adapter and it did not match my needed type. Since I did not have the needed pair I skipped the adapters and plugged new headlights directly, no adapters. When finished my new headlights worked and turns signals in new headlights also worked, all looked good. I then tried to adjust the lights up and down from the cab rotary switch and they would not move. MORIMOTO support was closed during the holiday break so I troubleshot on my own and found a blown fuse in the cab which also affected my rear turn signals and license plate lights.

I called support back when they were back off break. The tech looked at page 7 with me and he agreed that I needed a pair of the adapters that were not included. He said I would get a shipping email within a hour of our call disconnect. I waited two weeks and never got an email and no adapters were received. I called support back and got a different technician, he said there were no adapters shipped (I received 1) and blamed Toyota for the problem because a recall had moved a wire in the front turn signals wires. He told me which wires to move and two which position they should needed to be move to, call over.

First of all I had to take the truck apart again to get at the connectors that needed to be changed, hassle and a risk of scratching my paint. I have a history of upgrading my vehicles, my degree is in electronics, I worked on mainframe computers for IBM for 20 years. I had experience moving wires within connectors but the wires in these connectors did not unlatch like all my previous experiences. After many many searches, I finally stumbled on a video that showed I had to remove a plastic piece then I was able to unlatch the wire and move to needed position. Reassembled and all was now functional.

NOW MY PROBLEM WITH THE REVIEWS ON THE MORIMOTO SITE. ALL REVIEWS TODAY STILL SHOW A PERFECT SCORE. MY REVIEW NEVER GOT POSTED!

    * I POSTED A 2 STAR REVIEW AND I HAD TO RESPOND TO A EMAIL STATING I HAD POSTED, I RESPONDED VERIFYING I HAD INDEED POSTED.
    * MY 2 STAR REVIEW NEVER POSTED, I WAITED A MONTH AND CALLED MORIMOTO, TALKED TO A TECHNICAL MANAGER NAMED SALEM. I TOLD HER ABOUT THE PROBLEMS I HAD, PAID $117 FOR PLUG AND PLAY CABLES AND DID NOT GET THE NEEDED ADAPTERS SHOWN IN THEIR INSTRUCTIONS NOR THE EMAIL AND ADAPTER PAIR THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SENT TO ME. I ALSO TOLD HER THAT THE INSTRUCTIONS NEED TO BE FIXED, THEIR SUPPORT NEEDS TO MAKE A VIDEO HOW TO CHANGE THE CONNECTOR PINNING. ALL SIMPLE THINGS.
    * SHE SAID MARKETING WAS IN CHARGE OF REVIEWS AND THERE PERSON SHE NEEDED TO TALKE TO WAS NOT IN, SHE WOULD TALK TO HIM THE NEXT DAY. I MADE IT CLEAR I WANTED A CALL BACK FROM HER TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM AND I WANTED MY REVIEW POSTED FOR WHICH SHE AGREED.

IT HAS BEEN OVER A MONTH AND I HAVE NOT GOTTEN A CALL BACK. I CALLED BACK AND LEFT A MESSAGE FOR SALEM TO CALL BACK AND NEVER GOT A CALL BACK. PAGE 7 IN THE INSTRUCTIONS IS STILL POSTED.

I WOULD HIGHLY DISCOURAGE ANYONE FROM PURCHASING FROM MORIMOTO. REVIEWS ARE NOT VALID, INSTRUCTIONS ARE POOR AND IN THE END THE NEW LIGHTS ARE ONLY A HAIR BRIGHTER THEN MY OEMS, $1400 WASTED.

INSTRUCTIONS PAGE 7 - ADAPTERS SHOWN DO NOT SHIP.

I hate companies that block bad reviews.

I wanted replacements for my chrome led and went with oem black led ($500). In my opinion oem headlights are best. If you need better lighting, add supplemental lights.

I added SS3 Pros for $400(harness and bracket included in the price). I bet you would have gotten more output end less headache with the white ss3 pros in the driving pattern. All for $400 instead of $1400.

I, too, had a negative experience with their customer support. I supposedly needed the doo dad that plugs in if your truck wasn't equipped with LED/DRL but it kept blowing fuses. So I tried the lights without it and things were fine.

Emailed customer svc to let them know what was going on hoping for some technical troubleshooting or other technical response, and mentioned sending it back for a refund. Instead I got a rude jerkoff telling me to go to my vendor (which was Colton). He quickly gave me some money for the part and that was that, but I'm done buying Morimoto after that.

Sounds like shady business to me.
Get some light bar and diode dynamics ss3 max fog and you’ll see plenty good at night.
Sell the morimoto and put the oem led headlights back on. No issue or headache.

Thank you for the advice. I’m 67 years old and getting lazy so I will keep them for now but I wanted to purchase Morimoto fog lights but will not after my experience. Take care

Welcome to earth. Many companies handle reviews like that....it's nothing new. I have never dealt directly with Morimoto customer service. I have dealt with Headlight Revolution with Morimoto stuff purchased through them and have not had any issues with their customer service.

Coy response, I suspect you work for or have ties to Morimoto. The intent of my posting is to provide an awareness of deceptive business practices, poor technical support, and a lack of response or care from their employees.

I personally would not take the time to support an unethical company. Maybe your planet is OK with their practices but mine is not.
