I have been a Toyota fan way before the internet was even available and information like here was searchable. I had a Toyota pickup and that was pre Tacoma. I needed something bigger got a F150 because Tacoma did not pull what I wanted. I kept that longer than I really wanted. However that Toyota pickup did 115K. I also had a 2013 Prius again over 130K. So I bought a Tacoma with the V6 and can tow what I want to some extent. I need a bigger bed and would like more HP and Torque so here I am at the Tundra Forum. I am a little wary about getting a new 2025 only because I do not know what Toyotas manufacturing processes are. Maybe someone on ths Forum can add some insight. When Toyota finds a defect like the uncleaned engines or the timing chain oiler etc. Do they clear their assembly line or put the fix in before the cars are sent to the dealer? Like with the dirty engine did they purge their line I would think they would want to so that they can deliver a quality product. I also would hope that affected Tundras that are still on lots go back to the factory for re-work and the dealer does not do it. My concern is not the motor replacement but all of the stuff that will go unnoticed and not put back in the same manner.

Welcome from LA (Lower Alabama)! Good questions and I understand your concern. One option you have is to find a lower mileage Gen 2 (called Gen 2.5 on this forum). That would be a '21 or before, going back 5-6 years. A '19 just hit a million miles.

I do know that Toyota really does try to learn and correct things on the assembly line when they identify the source of a problem. That said, it is too early to tell if the '25's have all the kinks worked out yet.
