Super sad face. Just pulled in this evening from a 2000 mile trip to Ouachita National Forest and Land Between the Lakes Rec Area, and while looking under the truck waiting for oil to drain, found this sad situation:

Spring is busted through. I guess I can't complain about 150k miles. Still rode pretty great.

I had the same on my non-Pro TRD OR a few years ago. Heard a heck of a bang one day when hitting a below average pothole. Figured out why when I went to install by Billy 6112’s, so spending the extra on them (that include coils) over 5100’s paid off.

Did the TRD Pro shocks used to be Bilstein?

Pretty sure coils are still supplied from same source, even when they switched to Fox Dampers.

Still pretty sad to see this at 150K miles. Have over 300K miles on my 2006 Tacoma and still on oriignal front and rear springs with zero issues...

I'm pretty positive it happened when I hit a real nasty bump with far too much speed that I didn't see. Buried drain pipe that had sunk significantly, and I didn't notice because gray gravel road and talking to the wife. It was a loud, hard hit.
