    I have a 2015 Model 1794 Tundra 4WD MX CAB

I want to add a winch on the hitch receiver. I have found the adapter but I want to know if I can pick up power from the round trailer brake controller connector and the max amps for which pin.. I can opt for a winch that uses the right amount of power for the capacity but don't know which pin nor the current limitation. This will be used for dragging things up on my small trailer as I'm too old to move by hand, for example, my 400lb chipper and logs for firewood
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I can't answer your question directly but seeing as no one else has tried....

My dad and I did exactly what you are talking about....well....his idea and metal and my welding! LOL

As to the wiring issue, maybe this bump will get more exposure and the right someone will chime in.

Could you not run by a small shop near you and just ask the shop manager/owner if he can suggest a mechanic to do it in their spare time?

I've hired painters that way and the results were great.

As to dad's hitch-mounted winch, he just hooks it up directly to a spare car battery he puts over in the bed or the truck or bed of the trailer. Works fine.
