    Hello all,

noticed I have drips from almost every connection point on truck during first starting in AM.

after vehicle warms up it goes away. No suit of any kind on exhaust.

others have this normal phenomena too?

    thanks in advance!

Normal. Its condensation from warming the engine.

Are there weep holes at the base of each connection point and gasket?

Just poor connections. Never happens on other cars, with properly machined surfaces and gaskets.

Water is a byproduct of combustion, is sent out the exhaust manifolds as vapor and condenses in the exhaust system.

I considered it pretty normal. But if a liquid can get through, then a vapor, e.g. exhaust gasses, can for sure. When I noticed mine starting to drip, it wasn't too long before I could hear the exhaust leaks. I replaced the gaskets (they were indeed shot) and there are no more leaks of water or exhaust. If you want to be sure, start your truck and without touching (ouch!) the flanges, feel for any exhaust being blown out against your hand. There will be water in the exhaust system and it will evaporate once the hot exhaust heats up the entire exhaust system. Some mufflers have a weep hole at the end of the can to rid the muffler of water.

I’ll have my buddy look at it, I agree, previously trucks I had never did that. Thank you!

is the gasket just a insert between the two flanges? Pretty easy to do on own?

Yes, they are inserts and super easy to replace. You'll need 2 for the front and 1 in the rear. The rear one is a different size.

Here is what I used for the fronts..

    The rear FelPro part# 60461

You can find them at local auto parts store ore Keith at @dirtydeeds sells them on his site

Just did it a couple weeks ago. Not difficult. Might have to soak the bolts over night with a good penetrating oil. Then it's just 30-40 minutes. You do have to completely separate the joints. Check posts 16641 and 16644 in this thread .. https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...2nd-gen-tundra-today.68/page-555#post-3876030

Nice! I only knew about the FelPros. I'll probably give those BRE ones a try next time I have to remove my exhaust.
