Just saw that my Icon Upper Control arms may need to be rebuilt. I have the bushings ordered from Icon already.

I've had them on for about 5 years now.

Is this a pretty easy install? Or should I take it in to have the bushings replaced? I don't have the grease or grease gun.

Is this also a good time to have the struts rebuilt? Don't see any seepage from the struts. Icon said usually needs to be rebuilt around 40k. I have about 50k on them.

The I had the Icon Stage 9 kit installed back in 2019-2020.
    Thanks!

Generally you need a press. Which it sound like you may not have access to. Not sure about their design, but any type of bushings Ive even needed to replace on a car or boat had to be pressed out. The rubber gets degraded and set in there....probably not coming out with a set of vice grips or a socket and sledge.

Probably best to pull everything and have the UCAs and coilovers rebuilt at same time to avoid rework and additional downtime.

If theyre a 2 piece bushing like most aftermarket stuff, its easy and can be done in a matter of minutes

You don't need a press, at most a hammer but can probably push everything out by hand. Best time to rebuild the coilovers would probably be now if you're taking the arms off anyway. I would also look at replacing the uniball or delta joint in the arm, those are more likely to be messed up than the bushings. Where you get them rebuilt is a different question, you could do it yourself, but it can be a bit daunting first time. There's a place called Liberty Mountain Fabrication that rebuilds shocks, and another place called Wheel Every Weekend, both are well known but near the Tahoe/Sacramento area.

Can confirm the bushings and sleeves can be pressed in by hand or a rubber mallet at most.

I have a set in my garage right now.

get some grease for them and get a cheap grease gun off Amazon
