I think it's because I'm fairly sheltered from "the wild".

I only get to talk with O&G folks around here - who tend to NOT be whiny bitches.

so, when I do get into talks...well...I get to see the real world.

    lots of opinions out there.

it's quite the meditation to interact with such a diverse gaggle of folks.

This sucks but also shows how committed you are to yourself. Recognizing a poor culture and false promises is a skill that a lot of employers bank on employees not having. Good luck in your search.

TLDR. Change your cabin air filter.

About 3 weeks ago I had to replace the blower motor in my wife's cayenne. No big deal right? Parts wear out and it allowed me to start my journey of learning how to work on her car. Fast track to yesterday and it was warm enough out that she had her ac on. Upon running that for less than 10 minutes I'm sitting in the passenger seat and find that it's dumping condensation all over the floor board of the passenger side. Get the car home and do some trouble shooting to find that it's likely the drain port for the hvac system being clogged. Take it all apart and clear the drain, then go over to the drivers side to start the car so I can turn the ac on and test its function. No blower. WTF! Assuming that the leak from the hvac shorted the blower because it's right next to where the hvac drain port lives and that entire panel is wet. FML. While I'm under there I inspect the cabin air filter and find it's dirty as all get out. And wet. FML even more. So when I was under there replacing the blower if I had inspected the cabin air filter I would've realized that essentially my lack of maintenance caused this. The clogged drain port was due to the condensation overflowing into the cabin air filter box and taking all that dirt and dust into the drain port. :frusty:

My son was chewing on an electrical cord.

    So I grounded him.

He's doing better currently and conducting himself properly.

Wild. I will add to it.
My CEO became too egoistical for me on Friday. That was my last day.
Made a call that evening, and I was offered a higher salary and commission. The job offer came in last night.

So question for your since you're an electrician. Last night I pulled the connector (which seems to be water tight) and ran a blow dryer on the connector and the port on the blower motor assembly. Let it sit overnight. Just started the car to test the system and the motor is blowing again. Is it possible for something to short out only when it's wet but then still function after it's dries out?

It might not have shorted out. The water may have been bridging contacts that might have not allowed it to function. Now that it is dry no more problem?
I would think it would pop a fuse before shorting out the unit anyway.
I also could be completely wrong.

I will tell you, German cars hate being wet. My old GTI had issues too when the engine, or any part of the engine was wet

Just had an a ha moment. Thanks for helping me understand my initial reaction to assuming the worst.
yeah I had a 93 VW Corrado VR6. Loved that car until the electrical gremlins moved in.

Edit: Porsche is fixed with the hvac system operating and draining fine.

    for now...
