I’ve had a 2007 crewmax for a few years and it’s been flawless until a few months ago. Transmission tops out at 4th gear and at 70mph I’m just above 3000rpm— I have an appointment at a transmission shop since the couple mechanics I called said they done deal with transmissions.

About a week ago I was making a late night run to wal-mart and a forgotten ratchet strap wrapped around the axle and tore a 20” gash from bed rail to wheel well. It was an awesome sound, but I stood there, stunned, for at least 10 minutes in silence on the dark road. Surprised at the strength of the 1” husky ratchet strap and by my stupidity.

Yesterday all my door windows stopped rolling down and the power locks only work from the remote. The rear window still works. I went to autozone today and swapped out the pink 30A fuse to no avail, then tried a new P/W Relay in the #1 then #2 spot. Neither worked. After getting home I opened the hood and can now clearly hear the relays trying (clicking) when I press the window switches.

Is this truck gonna make it?

was in the process of welding on a loIMG_1494.jpg watertight rack for a rooftop tent and stopped.

    Bruh...
Sometimes its better to stop and double check your work some times. Prevents alot of heartburn...

transmission, drain and fill 1st, pull codes and if you can clear the codes, do it and see if they come back. Worst case a solenoid may need to be replaced.

Windows, you should look up the TSB for the master window switch and see if your VIN falls within the troubked ones.

I use those straps (rated at 400 lbs) to hold down a 1400 lb camper. I have them pinched, twisted and knotted and they refuse to break. Never thought I'd see something like this though, I'm both deeply saddened and highly impressed at the same time. Probably good it didn't get into that filler neck, that coulda been even uglier
