I had to replace some of the electric tape recently on my driver door striker. It's definitely a temporary fix at best. But it works. I've also read about people using a cut up Bic pen (3 or 4 sections with a slice down the cylinder). Slide em over the strikers. I think I'll give that a try one day. Just need to borrow some pens from work.

My door cards also needed to be reseated. The old gal is 22 and has 356k miles now.
I also zip tied the AC window latches in an X formation. Seemed to help with the rattles too. I just need to remove my radio bezel and gorilla glue the back side of it to the climate control. Then I should be *mostly* rattle free.

That's what went out to do after locating assorted sizes to fabricate a pen fix and found the card off!

It might help or might not, but I've used felt pads in some areas to help with sound noise and vibration rattles. It puts pressure on movable areas and also adds vibration dampening.

Anyone know if I can buy generic vacuum hose for these trucks? I think I may have some that need replacing

Since this TRD exhaust is hacked I don’t feel guilty
Amazon is probably the ticket for generic stuff.

Just dropped the Tundra off at the shop for the Timing belt and water pump work. Since they will have it taken apart I asked them to go ahead and replace the oil filter housing O-ring.

Do you recall what size grease zerk you got for your TC shackle. I ran into that problem too and need to get some 90 degree ones!

No i cant reach the grease zerks either and like @FrenchToasty recommendation of 90 degree zerks. Definitely gonna do the same! I can measure my bumps, they are the archive garage bumpstops.

I've replaced all of mine with bulk hose we have here at the shop. We have an assortment of hose sizes, so I can't really tell you exactly what I used. But in short, yes you can.

I like this look as well--what was the color before? I have chromes that I want to either swap out or just do this along with the side trim.

Great, thank you. I'm thinking a regular old manual wood saw will cut through my Sumo Springs without much trouble.

Yes, in fact. Please see this reply: https://www.tundras.com/threads/what-are-these-two-hoses-for-4-7-drivers-side.156589/#post-3882317

I tried to order from World Toyota yesterday, but their fucking parts system still doesn't allow you to do in-store pickup, which is fucking infuriating for me, b/c they usually have the best pricing for participating dealers near me. I hate driving all the way up to Marietta or equally far south of town to get parts.

Note that NAPA does sell quality rubber hose in bulk. I have bulk silicone hose in multiple sizes off scAmazon, but the stuff ... I just don't trust it. And it's shiny. And I can't imagine it'll last nearly as long as the genuine OEM rubber.

A lot of the EPC parts diagrams, for misc hoses, you'll click on the hose itself and it takes you to that grid I posted in that thread. While some hoses are separate, like the stuff for SAIP, it appears a lot of the thinner hose is just that 4mm or whatever hose Toyota sells in bulk. You can also buy that part number on scAmazon if you trust it, but I found ordering it thru Toyota's parts site for local pickup is cheaper than scAmazon pricing, and it's guaranteed authentic.

Nothing with the Tundra this weekend, but upgrade to the camper shell. Getting ready for T2S, welded up a tablet holder for my movie time, haha.

And this stray cat has been hanging around lately and taking a liking to watching me work on my truck and hanging in the camper!

Speaking of TC shackles and zerk greasing... What kind of grease can I use in my shackles? Can I just use the same grease that I use on my driveshaft? Thatd be easy if I could just use the same grease for all those fittings!

Shes been watching for months from my driveway but always really skittish. Then I coaxed her over with some food about 2 months ago and was able to pet her. Now she hangs out ever day and sleeps on my truck, haha.

Shes been fixed too, has a clipped ear. I think she did adopt me, haha.

    Whats a Tortie?

    Edit: Tortie: Tortoiseshell colored cat

    Weight reduction, mostly rust.
I was mapping it out for s&g the other day, pretty close to 1k in fuel just to get there and back (no trail/daily fuel included).
I think my current rig would have a 50/50 chance of actually completing the trip, and highly likely break something serious if I tested her limits wheelin.
    (Does anyone bring a welder?)
