    Hi guys,
Do OEM camshaft or crankshaft position sensors need to be programed or taught after installed on a 4.7?

I don't know about the camshaft position sensor in your truck, but I had camshaft position sensors for Bank 1 and Bank 2 in my 2013 Tundra 5.7L TRD. These codes became "permanent" in the ECU, so they could not be erased by my Blue Driver reader. But in this case the ECU erased the codes by itself. The note i got from the Blue Driver tester was that "only the temporary codes could be erased, not the permanent codes stored in the ECU. I also said that once the ECU does not sense the same codes, the UCU erases them automatically."

I did replace the 4 sensors, but the problem was not being caused by the sensors themselves, but by the lack of engine oil flow through them. The original sensors (solenoids) are fine, but since I had already replaced them with a new and cheap set of 4 from Amazon, I just stored them with other Tundra's spare parts :)
