Love to hear some good tips on this. My son has a set of matte bronze that are also chalking out. Some ceramic wipe on helps temporarily, but fades quickly. Afraid we will be re-powdercoating a satin or gloss.

Those look toast, probably not bringing back that finish. It has degraded. WD40 will make it look better until it washes off. Do not try to polish Matte wheels....looks like someone already did.

You may try cerakote, it might help. Wheels need to be very clean and Fully DRY...follow the instructions. But paint, powdercoat, even plastidip would probably be better options.

Try magic eraser with dish soap to see whether there is still good paint under that chalk. If that doesn't work (or is too much work) you can temporarily mask it by wiping on some transmission fluid -- gives it a nice shine, but it's just hiding the problem and you'll see it again once the ATF washes off.

Find a local shop that repairs/refinishes wheels.....my guess is that they will need some type of reconditioning.....I'm doubtful any detailing tip/trick/hack will bring them back

The first time I polished my TSS wheels they looked great.

The second time not so much..

I looked into powder coating locally and they wanted $900, which included removing and remounting the tries.
    I'd rather spend $900 on new wheels...

It looks like any sort of factory coating it had is gone. Not really sure what, if anything, you can do to bring it back to life.

Looks like you used the wrong wheel cleaner on those wheels. There is nothing you can do to restore them. The coating is chemically changed due to the cleaner and there is no bringing it back.
