I'm gonna try VRP 5w30 next change, just for grins. 155k on my 2012.

As long as it meets specs, I wouldn't worry too much about brand. Especially if doing 5k oil changes.

My apologies. I've been redoubling my efforts on development of the SprayCorp mast mounted, radial array trangsmission cooler.

Lomax cover, TRD PRO headlight conversion...so far anyway
I got 200k on a 5.4 Trifflin engine in my 07 F150 using Mobil 1...still did nothing for the annoying as hell 5.4 engine ticking though. Been using Mobil 1 0W20, but probably going with 5W30 on my next oil change at just over 100k on the Tundra.

For the money, the oil from the dealership is as plain as it gets. Either that choice, or the least expensive, no name brand.

any of the colored oils are the least good options since the way they dye oil is by using an acidic additive.

Oil is required by federal law to uphold its API standards and its viscosity as advertised on the bottle. Anything else is such a minor additive that it’s BS. Just like with gasoline. An entire tanker truck gets a syringe full of Techron to be considered ‘with Techron’ so they can put that cartoon car on the pump to make you feel good about buying their gas, which is the exact same formula as everybody else’s since there’s federal mandates which have to be met. Oil is slightly less regulated but still has quality mandates it must meet.
