Been looking through the search engine for an answer to my question but I can't find it.

I need to replace both of my door lock cylinders. Doesn't look like Dorman has the lock cylinders I need.

Anyone else got another vendor they used besides the oem from Toyota? Too expensive for my blood at the Toy Stealership

    Thanks

How much does Toyota want? Would you also rekey your ignition and tailgate?

Is the problem that the key no longer works to unlock the doors? If so, have you tried a new key? In my experience, keys wear out LONG before lock cylinders.

It may have been 5 years ago that I broke my key off inside my left door lock and, irrc, I could not source an aftermarket alternative. I do know for sure that I replaced it with OEM.

In case you need specific parts for your Tundra, you might consider adding 2003 AC 4x4 V8 to your profile given we know it's a Toyota Tundra. Many parts are different according to year, cab type and trim.

I concur with the others...if both doors don't work then you likely have a bad key. Get a new key cut to your VIN (~ $20 at the stealer) and see if that does the trick. If you really need new cylinders the they are ~ $80 at the online parts dealers.

I was going to ask the same: Why do you think your key cylinders are bad? Did someone shoot superglue into them? If not, graphite and a new key will go a loooooog way to a better experience.

It takes a HELL of a lot of beating to make key cylinders stop functioning. Even if you need to use the key daily to unlock a door. That will wear out the key loooooong before the cylinder.

Help us understand why you think you need to replace the cylinders. If you do replace them, you'll need to have a locksmith re-key the cylinders to match the tailgate and ignition, OR you'll be using two different keys the rest of your ownership life.
