Thanks for the add, I'm looking forward to learning about Tundras. I currently own a 2022 Tacoma and the power for towing is underwhelming to put it nicely. I've been tossing around the idea of trading it in and a 2nd Gen Tundra is in my top two choices to replace it. We don't tow anything too heavy but when we do tow it's usually a 4 to 10 hour trip with plenty of hills to climb. Mostly we'd be towing a 2400lb UTV on a 1700lb tandem axle 6.5x16 trailer. On paper the Taco should do this no problem but it seems to work pretty hard just to pull my 4x4 ATV on a 5x8 trailer. Anyway if anyone has any input on how the 5.7 equipped trucks do pulling a 2500'ish lb brick on a 1700'ish lb trailer I'd love to hear it. If it does well pulling that I'd consider using it to pull our pontoon to some lakes besides the one we live 5 minutes from.

    Welcome southern neighbor.
I pull a 3,500 lbs +/- Camaro on a full steel deck open car trailer with no issues going up and down of hills on I-84 & I-81 with no issues, don't even know it's behind me.

Just remember 2018 is the last year for the transmission cooler........they do sell kits that can be added to 2019+ Tundras. It's nice having the factory cooler and trailer brake controller from the factory. Then again both of these can be added if you don't have the tow package.
    Good luck with your search.

@Jim LE 1301 thanks. Hoping to go look at a low mileage 2020 SR5 TRD OR in the next couple of days. If the dealer makes a good offer on my trade I'll probably end up with it. I read about the trans cooler and I'm fine with adding one on. I've actually got a brand Derale one sitting on the shelf that I haven't got around to installing on my Taco.

x2 on the capability of the 2nd Gen for towing the loads you are suggesting. I pull boats around 3,000 lbs and loaded enclosed trailers (not sure on those weights). They pull wonderfully with the 5.7 V8 up and down boat ramps, interstate speeds, and in between
