Thanks! Ah I got bored and started on it with the marker. I feel it looks fairly decent. Easy cheap way to make an old scuffed paint look fresh again.

It is really fun to ride for sure. I can appreciate the simplicity of direct drive, a single rear brake and nothing else. :)

Been playing with different tire casings on my Stumpy Evo to bring it more to the enduro than trail bike side of things. So far very happy with DH Casing tires and more compression to handle rougher terrain at speed. Overall love this bike

Not specifically my bike, but my new bike toolbox setup. I stumbled across Toolboxwars on IG a couple years ago and have been drooling over travel mechanic setups ever since. I hardly ever travel to ride and really only work on mine and the wife’s bike, but man it is so nice to have an organized setup instead of tools just tossed In a cheap box. $120 for the case and foam was an easy cost to stomach for what it is.

I might steal that idea! A Park Tool case like that is almost $400

Figured I’d give Propain a try. Hugene 140/150 frame/fork. Almost done with the build, waiting on factory Fox Float X and fender to show up in the mail. Then ditching the SRAM G2 brakes for some TRP Evos. Stoked on the ride so far, killer mid travel jump bike.

My only comment... Why put the lube on the bottom vs. the top? I'd imagine you use that more than some of the other tools in the top row

Fair point, it was kind of an after thought to be honest. And if the lube ever leaks it doesn’t drip down through all the layers of foam, even though that’s pretty unlikely. I’ve found that getting to the bottom layer of foam/tools is far less annoying than I thought it would be, so it’s not the end of the world.

Do it! Between the foam and the harbor freight case I’m out less than $150, not including tools of course.

Looks great, what pedals are you running? I’m always curious on kash-gold colored pedals. One day I may level up.

Thanks. They’re Bronze Deity T-Mac’s from my previous bike. I’ve got the new Deity SuperVillains on my TR Patrol which I love. Contemplating getting a set of those in bronze for the Propain

Nice, both of those are a good looking pedal. I’ve been looking at pedals for about a year now and can’t decide where to land (within a flat option). Recently, I have my eye on race face turbine in kash. They have a 3mm concave which sounds appealing to me.

Little Sunday slam today. Tried to pre-hop into a little gully, blew a foot off and slammed into the other side of the gully. Blew my front tire off the rim and rung my bell a little bit. Every mountain biker pays the fun tax from time to time!

It looks worse than it is, just straighten the bars out and reinflate the tire and I was good to go!

That’s a good thing to hear. I’m still too bmx to switch to clips. I know I should. Maybe super flat grip is the middle ground I seek.

There's no real point to riding clips unless you're racing XC type stuff.
Most of my riding is backcountry tech/chunky and I have no desire to be clipped in to my bike whatsoever. The little benefit you get while climbing with clips would handicap me severely on the downhills.

Definitely a benefit on XC climbs, but the main benefit in my opinion would be riding at race speed through chunky sections (DH and Enduro racing.) I’ve definitely had my feet come off the pedals a few times racing enduro, but I’m a flats guy, lol. And then you’ve got Sam Hill

I tried clips once and I found them pretty cool. Obviously a serious win for pedalling. I definitely prefer descending haha. I do ride a fair bit of free ride style stuff too. Perfect world would have two sets of pedals and shoes. Pick your weapon of choice. That’s about a thousand dollars though ha. I’m good with flats pretty sure haha

Same here, I ran clips when I raced XC and Enduro, but now flats are the ticket for just riding for fun. Plus my local spot is stupid loose and dusty already, so having the quick foot out in the corners is a major plus.

I be rode clipped for about 10 years, for mostly aggressive XC/trail riding. I never liked them but like a fool I just did it because it was the “thing” to do…

Five years ago I switched to flats and it was incredible to say the least. I will never go back. The freedom of movement is phenomenal and I really disliked the feeling of being locked into the bike.

The only thing I’m not a fan of for flats is trying to line my feet up in the same spot each time I prepare for a trail or feature. Maybe those magnet flats would be cool.
