Console lid creaking and loud power step retraction

+1 ordered and installed the black weatherstripping. what a difference! Toyota should add this to their BOM for a more solid closure. Thanks to everyone on this thread for the idea and implementation!!!

 

Im dealing with the same issue in my 24 limited. Crazy because i had a 23 SR5 i put 10K on and never had a rattle one. The SR5 seemed a lot tighter built all the way around as far as the interior.

I bet weather stripping will help, but I noticed the creaking in my '23 Platinum and found this fix on YouTube. I just followed it about 15 minutes ago and it eliminates the creaking completely. Gets to the root cause of it, IMHO. Now I can't get it to creak no matter how much weight I put on the lid, very satisfied: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zngQidFI-G8

Video quality is not great and it's not really in a helpful order, but man he's spot-on with this remedy. Hardest part was getting the bottom cover off.
