Looking to get a new set of tyres for my stock TRD sport tundra. I really want a set of K03's but the smallest size they do in 20" is 285/60/20.

It's a new to me Tundra that is currently running 275/60/20 20x9 +18 on winter tyres and its rubbing at an almost imperceptible amount when at full lock.

I plan to remove the smaller front mudflap and heat gun the rear mudflap to eliminate this existing rubbing.

For my summer tyres the 285 vs 275 adds 0.47"

I have measured and I am certain that removing the front little mudflap and the smallest amount of heat gun moudling on the large mudflap will give me 0.23" on each side to accomodate the slightly larger tire.

Am i missing something here? I have 2" inches of clearance between the tyre and the UCA (which seems unusual to me, perhaps i am measuring something wrong?)

I can't see what else it would hit or rub on.

The wife will murder me if i buy these tyres and they don't fit.

But i like to live dangerously.

Any advice on things to look out for or reasons i am an idiot is appreciated.

Did you read the "what are the biggest tires that will fit?" super thread?

Thanks both yes I’m very familiar with the thread it’s how I chose my first set.

My question is more about the fact i think I can fit bigger with a slight amount of heat gun based on just the rubbing I currently have.

I’m just wondering if there are other things I am unaware of that would make them not fit.

With +18 the UCA isn’t the issue it’s the body mount and the front bumper liner and sometimes the swaybar/skid plate. You could run the largest tires if you had closer to +40/50mm offset.

Thanks for the info that makes a lot of sense.

It’s a 2.5 gen so the skid plate is the tiny version but I will definitely give the sway bar another look though.
