M18 seems to do the job a lot easier, wherever it fits. M12 is fine for general auto work and its compact, but I feel like lug nuts are pushing its limits at times. I def prefer the stubby if I'm working under or around the truck because of its weight, but I always grab the mid for wheels. If I know that I might be working on big/tighter bolts, I skip the stubby completely to avoid having to swap impacts mid job.

High torque is strictly for emergency...I rarely use it. Think my dad has used it more than I have. He swapped leaf springs on his water tanker on his ranch with it and thats about all the use its seen.

If you plan on taking the stubby with you, I would just confirm that it can remove your lug nuts. It'll do a lot for its size, it might just struggle some to get it done.

So, the video (and just one that I am aware of) did eventually remove up to 400 lbs, but the facto both struggle to turn it at 200 lbs surprised me a bit, and it is not like those air-gun impact would have it any easier if it is really stuck (fine, they have an edge over M18s, but they are very different categories....)

    So while I was researching, I failed to find the torque for mid-torque. From high torque/standard/mid torque, 1600 lbs/ 1500 lbs/ ?? lbs ???
1600 is def an emergency usage, and I think it will be in the shop if I need to touch that.
There was a sales on the 2 impact, standard and mid torque, both half inch socket, but this video did have me re-think....

Or am I overthinking it? Yea, it will spin a bit, but less than 10 seconds it will get it spinning and off..... AND it will fit in the packout....

Grab the stubby, loosen your lug nuts, tighten with stubby, put it back in a pretty packout and you're golden.

    If you're referring to the 1/2" M18 Mid-Torque, I'm pretty sure its rated at 650 ft-lb.

I have the 1/2" M18 FUEL Mid-Torque and 3/8" M12 FUEL Stubby, I can remove the lug nuts off my Tundra with the M12 but it does take a few extra hits. I only did it once to see if it could. I like it for getting into tighter spots and just use the M18 for the lug nuts.

I agree, the M12 3/8" would be great for everything on the truck expect lugs and maybe the leaf springs. The M18 1/2" is just so much more bulky in comparison to the M12 but def has more power to it.

I was gonna blather on about on why this deal was perfect timing. Let’s just say I’m setting up an old retired van and asked to keep it cheap until it’s moved out of service next year. photo three shows me using packout plates on the original old shelving.

Just picked this up today from the latest HD sale the other day that included the battery. I'm waiting for the new version to release but wanted to snag the battery from this sale.

Gonna post this for sale later today in the for sale forum but wanted to give this threads loyal Milwaukeeans first dibs.

    130 shipped

Home Depot put the 3 pack of fast back knives on clearance. Usually about 10-15 a piece, 3 pack is ringing up 5 bucks and change. Sorry Tucson folks, I cleaned out the store on old vail. I probably lose 10 of these a year.

    Is toolnut legit?

Edit: I was out with family and totally missed this, right now it is the same set for $222.22, don't see a coupon, but solid deal nonetheless, just need to make sure toolnut is legit and their stuff is in fact, legit Milwaukee

Yes - authorized Milwaukee online dealer and have purchased the red from them. Capital One provided the $5 coupon.

    Question:

Have you guys ever seen these rotary hammers on sale from Home Depot?
    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...Max-Rotary-Hammer-Tool-Only-2717-20/300184970

I've got a few concrete demo jobs around the house that I'm wanting to do and have been comparing different options. Looks like I'm gonna settle on this one.
Anybody have actual experience with any of the Milwaukee hammers? Care to share your review?

    Thanks

Not trying to dissuade you from purchasing but that’s a lot of bread to drop on a tool you could rent for a few days here/there. I was also gung-ho (back in my early 20s) to get a Hilti. When I walked into the store the old guy read right through me. “Son, use this Hilti bit and go get a cheap hammer drill from harbor freight. The bits more important than the drill”. Took his advice and drilled about thirty 10” holes no sweat. Have applied that advice many times over throughout the years.

Save that money and go get a tool that’ll make you some coin. I’d recommend the 1” D-handle impact. Stand outside the dealership and offer to remove people’s oil drain bolts after getting their vehicle serviced
