I don't think any of our admin ladies could pull that off.

 

Our admin lady is the Mama Bear in the office. She basically runs the place. Even the senior managers treat her with the utmost respect because she can and WILL make your life miserable if you don't. Need a monitor? It goes through her. Need more coffee for the office machine? She orders it. Final expense report approval prior to sending to accounting? She approves them. She knows everyone and how to get anything. If you've ever seen the show Suits, she's like Donna.

Some people hate her. They think she has too much power for someone who is "only a secretary" and are demanding and condescending to her. Thus their lives are more difficult than need be.

Me on the other hand? I'm nice to her. Among other things, I haven't done an expense report in 2.5 years because she takes care of them for me. I just send her my receipts and the report is done.

 

Battery on the Tundra shit the bed today, but it was 5 1/2 years old so can't really bitch about that. The only one I could find in my area was this Duralast for like $200.00.
Anyone here ever had one of these? Any good? Negative replies will be reported as it will ruin my Friday night buzz.

Doesn't matter if it's a male-dominated industry or not, there's one lady behind the scene holding everything together. Her title doesn't matter; she owns the place and everyone else is her bitch.

My father owned and ran a company of over 100 employees when I was growing up.. He was a CPA and still didn't fuck with the accountant; she was brutal. When I worked there for a summer, the only person he warned me about was her. I would have lost a critical order for a big customer before I lost the receipt for the $7 car wash I bought for the company delivery van. Not joking. When she retired, family attendance of her retirement dinner was mandatory. My dad had a lot of great people working for him, but her retirement was the only "put on a nice shirt and get in the fucking car" dictate he ever gave my brother and I.

Most you know where I work...if the 300lb 65+year old queen-of-production ever quits or doesn't wake up, it will impact deliveries. She and I are friends for two reasons. One, I was taught to know where the true power lies in a company by my father. Two, she saw my BRCC slap on my coffee mug...

Yep! We're good. I provided zero helpful info to your honest question, so I was primed for some ball busting (queue @Tripleconpanna).

I'm a few drinks into the evening, so game on. I've just spent too much time in China where people think "Happy Joy Top Quality" is a legit label for top shelf whatever.

 

I'm sure some on this forum look at this thread and wonder WTF is wrong with some of the people posting here, that my friends is the beauty of this thread. As far as @Tripleconpanna goes, where else can you get a friendly vampire with lots of great knowledge to contribute to a truck forum. We should be thankful, I am.

 

I learned the true power of "little old ladies in tennis shoes" in my twenties. As a first line supervisor, I had two that saved my ass more than once. And lectured me way more than once.
Larter in senior/executive management, I can think of at least four that probably should have been doing my job.

For the corpulent, elderly female, I can only say I did manage to outlast one of those, but she was at a much lower position, based on revenue.
