    Greetings from NW Arkansas.

I've loved the Tundra since it launched and just traded most of my bank balance and a kidney for a pretty clean 2017 V8 SR5 with 98k miles (from a dealer). Seems to be stock with no extras except for 20" aftermarket wheels that I don't really like, but I love the height. I'm sure I'll find the extra short bed a PITA, but now I can haul baby elephants in the back seat!

I bought it Tuesday and tried to install Havok HS2 steps last night only to find that all but 2 of the bolts have been out if the mounting holes on both sides for long enough that the threads are corroded. And so it begins... LOL

The good news is that the dealership filled the tank! :)

Welcome aboard from Arkansas! Some penetrating oil and a thread chase can probably salvage those threads

IMG_0285.jpg Thanks, KNABORES! I sprayed them all last night with PB Blaster but I don't expect that to do much to just open threads (except maybe catch MORE grime?). I'm going to give a thread chaser a try after work in the warehouse - WAY more comfortable than the gravel driveway, and we've got something called Tap Magic that I'm hoping might help. I'm going to try to attach a picture of where I started last night - newbie at forum stuff!

I'm also assuming a "thread chaser" is the doohickey in the tap and die set...? That's what I have. Hubby and I both have Harbor Freight "problems" so we happen to have a brand new set that I hope will work okay.
