Hi there! My truck is a 2019 5.7L V8 Limited. I have a matching spare wheel with same size tire and TPMS sensor and I rotate them every 3K miles using all five.
It seems the truck only "remembers" the sensors for the four tires touching the ground. Soon after the spare is installed as one of the four being used, the TPMS light comes on the dash. Then I take it to a shop and they use a TPMS relearn tool to reset, and then the light goes off until I rotate again.
I'm looking for a recommendation for a TPMS relearn tool that works with factory sensors, so I can do it myself. Thanks in advance.

I use an Autel TS508WF. Works great. You can scan your sensors and input them straight to the ECU via the OBD connector. The unit itself can download updates over Wifi.

Thank you! The pricer tag is a bit higher than what I was thinking of spending but seems worth it.

I'll agree the Autel TS508WF and using OBD relearn is a quick easy tool to use after rotations, especially if you have aftermarket TPMS sensors. In addition, I have a 21 with PTS (push to start) and am able to have the truck recognize the 5th (spare with sensor) on the dash display. it seems as though the ability to add the spare on the dash display has to do with PTS and the likely use of a different CPU than the standard keyed ignitions, regardless of model year.

How were you able to add the 5th sensor? I have the TS508WF and with be swapping rims/tires soon, have been debating on getting a 5th wheel for the spare.

My spare tire didn't have a TPMS sensor on it when I bought the truck (used), so I had one added to it when I had 4 new wheels installed (which included 4 new TPMS sensors to replace the old TPMS sensors on the old wheels). The Autel lists a 5th sensor on its relearn process and will ask you to scan for it. It should upload the 5th sensor data (and presence) when you connect the Autel to your truck's OBD II port. At least, that was how it worked for me, and it was easy.

It won't add the 5th sensor on my 2020 SR5 key start.

I'm guessing you did the same procedure as @Thumper_6119 listed above? Don't think there is another way so that's probably a stupid question.

there was a lot of back and forth on this with @Tundra234 via DM. He did everything he shouldve been doing but I dont think the keyed and PTS systems use the same CPU for programming the TPMS. we ran troubleshooting to see if it was the autel unit that couldn't do it because it was possibly counterfeit or the truck. could also be why the OEM relearn sucks so bad on the 21s with PTS and has been so finicky, hence why I bought the Autel unit in the first place.

Yes. Mine is just a regular ol' key start. I don't have PTS.

And to clarify, my dash only has the TPMS warning light. My 2011 does not have the center display that the 2.5 gens have. I know that my ECU has the 5th sensor data because it is passed through to my stereo head unit/Maestro setup.

Kenwood DNX996XR. It only shows the 4 tires on the main TPMS display and widget, but if I press the Settings button, it will show the spare tire info (when I have a functional sensor on the spare).

Nice. I have the 9 inch Pioneer 7600 floating screen. I tried to add the 5th sensor to the dash display with the Autel but it won't program. The TechStream lite shows a 5th position that is grayed out. I haven't messed with it in a while.
