I have this Carhartt tool roll that I got as a gift. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CVSSJ7T7 It works great and would probably fit under the rear seats, but it isn’t super big. Works nice when I need to take it out of the truck and bring it somewhere.

I actually keep a small toolbox in the back of the truck, but it’s pretty overkill and I’m thinking about getting something smaller.

Thanks, I'm gonna try to drop in a little more often. My 2006 is still running like a champ and now that my boy is getting his license we plan on doing some wrenching on it together so he can earn some seat time behind the wheel, so will probably be needing more forum help...:)

So just some off the shelf braiden, not extended lines? Or the extended lines aren't enough for all that extra droop you got with the new shocks/locations/axle?

Wheelers is where I got my extended braiden lines

Who are the resident experts in electrical for our first Gens? I know about @daveeasa from our forum and @RainMan_PNW on the electric forum but wanted to seek out others as well for added input on my projects.

My KSAs on electrical issues are low and I've got a problem that I could use some help with as well as selecting the right remedy along with parts, tools, and supplies.

I am going to start a thread in electrical to track the journey of a neophyte along the way for anyone interested. J

In Mexico for vacation this week. Seen a couple of 1GTs doin’ work. First up is a nice RCLB with a mid-rise shell. An option I believe most of us haven’t considered when our rear camper glass is busted out: screen that bish!

I know how to read them, but time lately is a premium with work and home life both being crazy busy. And as much as I’d like to one a FGT one day, I currently don’t know a whole lot about the wiring (except that it’s less complicated).

Today, I fought valiantly but the crown vic won. I tried to replace the belt but it was short. 2" too short (TWSS). This belt is a fucking bitch. On top of that, I broke my short jack stands so I had to use my tall ones so getting to the motor sucked. If I wasn't 6'2", it wouldn't have happened. I have to jack it up to get to the tensioner from the bottom.

So to start with, you have to unbolt the S/C to get the belt on. No biggie, but the inboard most bolt is a damn Allen head that's half covered by the S/C so you have to use a 90° Allen. Then that pulley just falls out. There's another pulley on a stud that you have to pull off, then you have to remove the tensioner itself! I think there's about 12 pulleys to wrap around.

I got the belt back in place up top and holy shit. That Allen bolt/pulley combo sucks when you're trying to hold up a 20lb S/C with one head and thread a bolt in blind with the other. All that just to find out the belt is too short even with the tensioner maxed out. Ugh. So I found the markings on my belt said 110, mine is 108. Nobody can get me one tomorrow, but that works out OK since RA has one for $34 whereas the one I have from O'Reillys was $67. I may call in reinforcements for round 2.

Yeah agreed. I have seen fewer than half a dozen in all my years in Mexico City. Way more common the closer you get to US border in working areas.

Well, I'm grateful you were able to post all those, so thanks for that. That single action has cascaded into helping resolve dozens, if not hundreds of issues over the years I've been here.

Thanks - I appreciate it. It’s one of the ways I’ve tried to give back to the community.

Ones of these days I’ll get the rest of the newer ones rounded up too… just takes time to do the two day subscription and then bing search/download/organize for 48 hours.
I keep kicking around the idea of just doing the annual membership to be able to help find other info for people but it’s more than a few cups of coffee…

So it's bad out there. I-27 is shut down, multiple over turned semis, roofs are coming off buildings. It's 50mph winds with 80mph gusts. And my power is out. Me and the boy just playing some minecraft chess.
