One of the construction guys can correct me if I'm wrong but for your use case I'd get the less espensive one you linked earlier. Also get the smaller blade as it will be more agile and lighter.

edit. Follow the advice above. More is always better.

Just odd, as you’d think the fuel would also be brushless

I'm not that into Milwaukee stuff so I don't know their line as well as a lot of you guys. I'm assuming that they didn't make it brushless for a better cost to get people on board with their line. :notsure:

But fuel is supposed to be lighter, run cooler, and more compact. Saws are brand new to me so I’m also learning here

Got to use my milwaukee pump sprayer yesterday...forgot how much I liked it over my ryobi. Spray is so nice and crisp with minimal post spray dribble. If you guys so any sort of weed control, def pick up the sprayer

I was just giving you a hard time about the dewalt. I still have an old makita slider on a “blush” ridgid chop saw stand.

I will need to make an executive decision if I should grab the first saw I linked, or the get the brushless one.

Tough decision :( You get more for less with the deal of the day.

You got 6.5hrs to decide o_O

    My vote is for brushless.

From what I see, the first one you linked is NOT a Fuel saw.

I would agree that a smaller unit will be lighter and should be easier to manipulate on larger panels.

    There’s always that guy. ;)

I’ve owned plenty of Festool over the years, and if I was making my income remodeling vintage high-end homes (or had a sponsorship) I would have a lot more black and green. But there’s a pretty sharp line of diminishing returns for the DIY homeowner there.

    Just went back and looked
The 6-1/2” you linked isn’t FUEL - and doesn’t appear to be brushless (model 2630-20)
The 7-1/4” you linked is brushless (model 2631-20)
The 6-1/2” FUEL is model 2833-20
The 7-1/4” FUEL is model 2834-20

2834-20 looks nice. Maybe it’ll go on sale this week. Either way, it’s going in my cart

It is a nice saw (I’ve had mine for a while). I grew up using a top-handle circ saw so I’ve always been more comfortable with one compared to a rear handle framers saw. It’s way lighter than my 30-yr-old dewalt corded circ saw (I only use it for doing fiber cement siding because that shit is nasty).

Used to be that 7-1/4” blades were easier to get your hands on, but given the proliferation of 6-1/2” cordless saws for the past few years those blades are relatively easy to get now too… though it’s still easier to find a bigger selection of 7-1/4” blades at most home centers.

Get a good fine tooth finish blade (I like Freud Diablo - 60 tooth) for those panels, and cut them FACE DOWN so the tooth is pulling up against the finished face - it will result in less splintering along the cut. Use the blade that comes with the saw for rough cuts like 2x4’s and stuff.

Great advice. Also place painters tape on the finish side when you cut to minimize splintering.

So, while search for impact to put in the packout for vehicle rescue, came across this video.
Around 10:40 point, where the 2854 and 2855 were tested, both struggled at 250 lbs, and even more so at 300 lbs.
Would any of you that have either 2854/2855 able to speak to this?
Main reason to get it is for wheel removal for the most part while on the road, or in our case, our corporate parking garage....lol

I use the mid torque for wheel removal. More than enough power to do so. I have all 3 and mid is my go to

May I ask the reason for going with mid when you have all 3? Size?
I know mid-torque might be the smallest amongst the three....
But when trying to pack everything in a packout, size unfortunately, will be considered.
