With the removable top this could probably be arranged.

I pondered this post over the weekend.

    It is spot on.

    There is a "soul" issue.

My tundra (600hp) makes nice noises, and scoots quite well.

the wife's MX Plaid is noiseless.

my point...it's my wife's daily driver. a 1020hp daily driver. She can toodle around town to her heart's content.
however, all one has to do is press the pedal & it's not going to loose at a stop light race.

Tundra...same. It's my daily driver. it's got a wee bit of soul.
but, all that noise will only do 5.1 0-60.

so....I will slightly disagree with your rollercoaster stmnt.

yes, it is a slingshot accelerating machine.....but, it's also a quiet daily driver as well.

    driving skill....what is that?
whatever it is...it does not exist in Houston.

This is exactly how it felt to me riding in Sean's Model 3. It was actually unpleasantly abrupt on the acceleration, just like a high speed launch coaster. 0-60 in a couple seconds is exhilarating and novel the first time or two, but after that it just becomes jarring and uncomfortable.

I must be getting old because Teslas are just too quick for me.

Yes, the soul of a car while driving it is really the focal point here. The rollercoaster statement is the short lived thrill. I’m sure it’s fun in the beginning but for me it’ll die out, quickly.

I feel like I'm in the Truman show.

folks get told to do shit & they do it...performative bullshit.

this is just gonna make the conservatives buy a shit-load more Teslas.

all this "protest" shit will get worse.

right up until WE get sick of it.

This is not a political viewpoint...it's just facts. and it's a damn shame.

    Tires

We never got 5k miles out of any rear tire on the MS

this is 8200 miles on the MX

those new camber bars must be the trick

and of course you can’t rotate

Got some new rubbers 255/45/20 falken wildpeak trail a/t tires a little bit heavier but more tread life. OEM Goodyear tires lasted just over 35k miles.

As noted in another post, I rebuilt my Mach e (auction sale). It needed 2 new wheels, so I bought a set of 18” rims just so I could run less expensive tires with more tread depth. Those 20 and 22” tires seems to burn through the tread pretty fast on these heavy cars. A buddy of mine has an MS and he can’t get more than 15000 km out of a set. So far, I’ve added 22,000 km and I’m only at about 1/3 wear. And here in Canada, where tires are very expensive, it makes a big difference in your overall operating costs.

it's nice to see an ICE do this. a road going one, no less.

    but:
    that car is >$300k
it must have >1000hp to make that move at the end of the pass.
it will break after a few passes

    and

Why is there always a but?? A race is a race and there's always advantages/disadvantages (short of one car racing its identical self)

    To be seen....

Why does every Plaid race end in, "I'm only at _ _ %" ???

    it's the consisent disclaimer!!!

"it will break"....all ICE cars break after a few full power 1/4 mile passes. too many stressed parts. and the car is way outside it's duty cycle. TeslaPlaidchannel has gone over 900 runs without incident. 900....that's a big number.

the % thing....well, it's just like all the ICE folks when they say, "the tune is off" or bad fueling, or 100 other excuses.

    it's what dudes do.

I use the open diff on my tundra as my "go-to" excuse.

and...I am offended that you are not offended by my "typical McLaren driver" comment.
