Timbren SES on Third Gen?

    Carrying a relatively light camper (four wheel fleet), test fit it today and was surprised by the amount of squat. Don’t really want airbags as just too fiddly for long drives or constant logging roads

    any thoughts on timbrens vs dobinson springs? Don’t really want to lift as have some height issues with camper in and out of the garage

    I feel you as i was shocked by the amount of squat from a 500lb pallet. I have experience here as I have had both and haul material for my construction business.. I ran the dobinsons springs at 400lb for a little while with the timbrens. The dobinsons are the way to go if you are going to leave the weight in the truck bed, they will accommodate the weight and give you proper height and handling. If you are taking the weight in and out of the bed like i was and riding empty most times, they are stiff and ride higher than stock. This is why i took them off.

    The timbrens give good support when loading down the truck, at like 1000lbs. The truck will sit on them and still look squated but not bottomed like it would normally at this weight.

    Bottom line, this suspension setup just doesn’t handle weight above 1000lbs very well so I ended up buying a F350 for material hauling and removed the rear springs in favor of the Icon springs. I have their stage 4 kit so their rear springs work well.

    Just put sumo springs on mine. Loved them on my 2012, but I bought them used...

    I think I can feel them after a good bump on the 3rd gen. Maybe they wear in a bit?

    Nitrogen filled tires!
    I'm running SES Timbrens on my Gen3. I tow a light 2k camp trailer. Levels up and rides perfectly when loaded and no affect when not loaded. Perfect for my needs.

    I put on the timbrens, as I haul boats all the time. Definitely helped on the squat issue. You can feel them on a good bump but I think they help out tremendously. The way to go when hauling heavier cargo.

    Sumo Springs are good solution. I was going to put Dob springs on, but didnt want rougher ride when empty. Sumos sit about an inch above the axle, and help with squat when loaded. I had compost soil piled high above the bed this past weekend, and hardly any squat because of the sumos.

    I purchased a set of Timbrens used on here. The seller contacted Timbren as he felt they were too stiff unloaded. They sent hima TRD set that were a little softer for off road use also. I am running them now on my Limited. It rides like normal unloaded and can't tell a difference from before replacing. I hauled my 24' race ready whis had just over 600# tongue weight. I did use WD bars as the trailer was already setup with them. The truck squatted maybe 1.5". It looked amazing with the trailer behind it.
