I'm sorry, I know its been forever...but I'm just getting back to the forum and noticed your post. Did you get this figured out? If not, I can look back at my notes from when I did the wiring and see if it sheds any light...

Nice! I've never done any locums work. Got any hospitalist APP gigs out West? I'm loving all the free time, but getting my mind back in the game for a bit might not be a bad idea...

We left in April and have been on the road full time. Currently in AZ with no plans to stop anytime soon. The Tundra is in storage in Missouri, but I'm going to probably bring to to AZ early next year. But probably never bring it back to Florida...

Shifty linked this thread to me as a new 06 DC owner. I just read the whole thread start to finish and added a few things to my truck to-do's.

Thanks for sharing so much over the years and I hope life is still going well.

Well, we traveled across the country for Christmas so I swung through Missouri to pick up the FGT from storage and bring it back out west with me. I have given her some TLC and we’ve had a few great adventures these past few months. Sadly I’ve since put her back in storage in AZ.

    December 2024:

After 10 months sitting in storage in Missouri, I pulled my beloved FGT out and brought her to AZ with me. Changed the oil and swapped in a new battery before driving, and she made the trip perfectly.

We spent the month of January in Tucson,
and explored a bunch of dirt roads in the AZ/Mexico borderlands with the family.

While in Tucson, I had the opportunity to meet Noah Merrill, a fellow FGT owner and Toyota mechanic. He’s got a super sweet AC! He helped with new valve cover gaskets and tube seals.

Next, we spent some time at Ocotillo, Anza-Borrego, and Joshua Tree. I let my just-turned-seven year old do a bunch of driving on the trails.

Great update! Any plans with the truck being closer to home now?

Well, we had some great adventures in January, February, and March but I put her back in storage as we’re now making our way up the CA coast where space at campsites and fuel are quite dear.

As March rolled in, we parked the RV and loaded up in the Tundra for some Baja exploring. It was my kids’ first time to Baja and I haven’t been back in over 10 years. Thankfully, I still know a bunch of folks down there from my racing days and a great friend was kind enough to let us borrow his beachfront campo for a homebase.

    loading up in AZ.

We roamed around a few hundred miles of beach, sand road, and gravel. We saw whales, birds, fish, crabs, etc. My 7 year old did a lot of the driving. I drank most of the cervezas but my wife had a few. I ate a metric ton of fish and shrimp tacos
