8 years later and this thread is helpful. Replacing the old LEDs that were crapping out, I must have pushed the bulb receptacle thing up. Now I've got nothing on one side and can't really get the bulb in there. Do I have to yank the assembly to remedy this or can I ham fist it somehow from below?

I pulled the assembly and it was easy. I bent back the brass or copper tabs but no joy. 3 different bulbs in each orientation and no luck. Suggestions on what to do next? A junkyard might be easier as I'm poor with electric stuff.

    Thanks.

Just read the thread from the start. You can buy the switch and replace it and it's very simple to do.

Well, looks like I'm the first to f this all up somehow. Replacing the switch didn't do anything to fix it. Jumping the 2 middle wires didn't work, either. I guess the junkyard is my first stop on Monday. Time to put a jar of Vaseline in the truck now so I don't forget. :eek2:

Looks like this thread may solve my issue. I went to change out my map bulbs to LED. One side works and the other side doesnt. Will remove the entire console and see what happened.

Oh my god, you are a lifesaver! I did the same thing as you, and popped up the contacts above the bulb. I figured that out on my own, but without your post I never would have looked at replacing the switch.
