Are they M14-1.50? Do they have the taper? I ran tapered nuts on a ford that required flat ones and they would back out from time to time. Could be as simple as the wrong type of nut. If factory nuts are doing it, it might be time for new studs.

This started happening when I had the tires replaced at a Walmart tire shop. The same lugs were on the wheels before this and they never loosened. Not sure what they did but even after a good tire shop tightened them for me, they came loose again. I am thinking of returning to regular lug nuts.

I'd buy a torque wrench before I bought new lugnuts.

Walmart requires techs nowadays to use an oil and "wet" torque to stud spec.

They don't even give damn what stud spec is, Liability issue

Sounds like the symptom of a stretched stud. As mentioned a good torque wrench would be 1st. Then I'd probably get some new nuts, cool black ones most likely. If that doesn't solve it you can get studs for pretty cheap and replacing them is very easy if you have a good impact wrench. https://www.amazon.com/Mysttoo-M14x...=&hvlocphy=9030104&hvtargid=pla-2281435179258
I had to replace 20 of the 24 on my taco after letting poncho go ape shit with the impact, sounds like you're dealing with the same issue

Could be the wrong lugs for the wheels. That would be the easy fix.

And if the installer did not torque correctly, where they backed out and got loose, the wheel lug holes could have gotten gouged out since the lugs were loose. If that happens and the lug holes get oblong or gouged out enough the wheels will never hold torque regardless of how much you tighten the lugs. I had that happen on a Ram once, ended up having to replace all the wheels and lugs.

I think I will try a shotgun approach, buy a torque wrench, new posts and new lug nuts. I know WalMart had trouble getting a tire on and am thinking they damaged something when putting the wheel back on the truck. In fact, they put the new tire in the bed and told me about it. So I had to have someone else put the last tire/wheel on! Quite the saga. My username, Thunderkiten, comes from Thundercat, the nickname of the model motorcycle I owned, a Yamaha YZF600r. Thanks to everyone for the help and advice.
