    Hello,

This evening I jumped in my truck and immediately smelled a wet mildew odor. I didn’t smell it this morning. I lifted up the all weather mat on passenger side and everything was dry. I lifted up the all weather mat on the driver side and the floor board and carpet are soaked. Even the blue fire wall stuff behind the pedals seems to be wet. Has anyone ever experienced this? I’m calling Toyota in the morning and taking it up there.

My '19 had an issue (from the assembly line) where an A/C line was pinched somewhere and the condensation was dumping out under my carpeting. It took 2 visits to the dealership to figure it out - first time they blamed it on me. Good luck with your findings.

Edit: my carpet was wet under the floormat areas of the front passenger and back driver's side.

I have an SR5 TRD OFF ROAD. It does not have the panoramic roof. I’ve seen that before the handle has never been wet. It’s at Toyota now and as soon as I brought it in the service advisor asked if I filed an insurance claim. I can already tell these guys are doing a stellar job trying to diagnose it.

Toyota called me earlier today and they are creating a ticket for Toyota to seen one of their people out to inspect. They said they hosed down the truck to determine where it’s coming from and appears to be coming from the front wheel well. Kind of odd since this has never happened in the last 2.5 years of owning it.

Do you know who in need to contact from Toyota to go up the ladder on this? I’ve been told a tech is supposed to come out but no updates.

    After almost 2 months …

They finally located the issues and have fixed the problem. A few grommets on the floor board failed and caused water from the outside to enter the vehicle. It’s been water tested and no more leaks. However, a new update from the dealer today that they found mold on the carpets. Everything has to be torn out and cleaned professionally to ensure there is no additional mold growth per Toyota guidelines. I knew this was going to be the case but these guys are so back up that it’s gotten worse. Toyota is taking care of everything and they have me in a rental. It’s just an inconvenience. Possibly another month for completion.

I am having the same issue with water on the floorboard (Driver side). I have a 24' 1794 TRD OffRoad with less than 3k miles. after a major rain storm I noticed a wet carpet when I went to clean off my floor mats the next day. I am taking it to the dealer for resolve on the next available
appointment to get it fixed since its under new car warranty. I was thinking this was a one-off but apparently this is an issue for some owners of the 3rd Gen Tundra. I am hopefull Toyota will make it right after seeing this ufortunate trend in the 3rd Gen. I will be taking these post to help assist with pinpointing the issue. What ever happened to Toyota Quality Control. I should not have to deal with this on a 70k Truck!

Well to be honest things like this happen all the time. It spawned the old saying, "Never buy a vehicle built on a Friday or Monday."

Grommets fail, debris clogs up sunroofs, etc. Doesn't matter how much you pay for a vehicle, shit happens.
