Anyone know how to submit a lemon law with Toyota?
I have a 2024 Tundra new that I truly love but... it has been in the shop 4 times now trying to get the rattle out of the front speakers. 1st time they did an update. 2nd time they said they switched a speaker and 3rd time I had the audio tech come out to the truck and listen to the radio. He hear the issue. They said they put in another piece to fix the issue. The issue is still not fixed. 4th time they say they can not locate the problem.
So...the question is "Do I live with a crackling speaker? or "put a claim in for the Lemon Law"
What would you do? Thanks for any input.

Lemon laws vary by state, so it's best to contact a lemon law attorney who operates in your state.

Or, a cheaper route might be to upgrade the factory speakers, if that's the only problem you have with the truck.

Lemon Law for a crackling speaker?
It'd probably be easier just to buy new speakers and move on with your life.
    Here's Google AI's take:
To claim lemon law, the problems with your vehicle must be significantly impairing its use, value, or safety, typically requiring multiple unsuccessful repair attempts for the same major defect, meaning the issue must be substantial and not easily fixable, causing you to spend considerable time without a working vehicle; the exact severity needed varies based on your jurisdiction's lemon law specifics.

That doesn't sound like a match for your situation but i'm no expert either.

It really depends upon the state you live in, take Matt's advice above and contact a lawyer and hope that you live in a state that covers audio issues.

Possibly cheaper, definitely when you factor in the time.

The concern I might have is if Toyota has already tried OEM speakers, but the issue is still there. Then aftermarkets won't fix it?

Not to mention in an effort to escape accountability its not uncommon for the manufacturer to run a diagnostic tests that track damn near everything. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to hear If that speaker was ever pushed past a certain db level the owner becomes liable.

Yeah, never heard of this before. I will tell you Toyota's customer care is not much customer focused. It would take too long to explain here but I tried to get them to replace a cosmetic part they declared outside influence. I kicked around the idea of paying $1400-$1500 dollars to fix it then filing a small claim to try and get my money back. I then discovered the salvaged yard steering wheels for sale on eBay. I then realized that I will take care of this myself. I am sure when something mechanical breaks and Toyota or the extended warranty company deny the claim that is when I pursue legal remedies.

Toyota isn't what they once were, they don't stand behind their products like they did in the 70s, 80s, and 90s and even early 2000s. They have become the Japanese Ford and Chevy.

Would would I do? Buy some better-quality aftermarket speakers and realize that a LOT of folks have far-worse problems than I do!

No guarantee that replacing the speakers is going to fix your issue if it’s originating from the wiring…if you replace the speakers and the sound is still there it’s either a wiring or head unit issue. I would approach the service center again as they have acknowledged that there is in fact an issue. Ask them to replace the head unit since a replacement speaker didn’t resolve it. They’ll balk because it will likely be in the $3-4k range (yes they charge that much for the infotainment systems). If that doesn’t fix it you might be in a better place. There is no guarantee that they will agree but I would escalate with Toyota corporate if they refuse. You have an advantage as there is an unresolved documented issue. I don’t think this would qualify as a lemon though, unless some of the safety features, etc are tied into the head unit and unavailable

I'm sure I'm the odd one here, but I rarely even use my radio at all. At the same time, I know the sound system is used for nav. & much more in these trucks. Does it make the noise only with radio, or all the time?
